texans have a great chance to win this weekend, andre johnson is playin and that should be enough against any team as long as the defense can make some plays, the wr core is good enough to help aj get open for some oppurtunities

It's not like TB is setting the world on fire. They were extremely lucky to win last week against NO (who the hell runs a trick play when you're just trying to run out the clock?).

Houston 17
Tampa 14

Mario gets 2 more sacks to go over the 10 mark. Sage does just enough to keep us in the game and leads the winning drive in the 4th for a Kris Brown 50 yard FG to win it. Dayne has about 50 yards and AJ goes over 100, again.

The Texans should lose this game, beat the crap out of the Broncos on Thursday, then lose the rest for a good draft pick.

Too bad they traded their 2nd round draft pick to ATL for Schaub. IMO, they overpaid for him, but that's the price you pay to get rid of the "Lemon!" :D

My crappy division has sent a team to the NFC championship game for the last 5 years, going to 2 Super Bowls and winning one. The AFC South, by comparison, has reached the AFC championship game 3 of the last five years, going to 1 Super Bowl and winning 1. Hard to see how the NFC South is weaker than the AFC South.

The play that broke the game for the Lions was when Romo fumbled on that last drive. Balls right there in front of one of the defenders and all he has to do is fall on it. Instead he tried to pick it up and run with it, booted it, and Dallas recovered. Around a minute and half was left in the game... no timeouts for Dallas.

What I loved about the Mario sack today was the timing. The Bucs had penetrated the red zone and on a 3rd and makeable, 28-14 late in the 4th, Mario gets in sacks McCown for a 3 yd loss and on 4th and 5 we deny the Bucs. Mario's sack changed the complexion of that drive. :D

Why should it be the first question? He had a sack, period. If it was Dwight Freeney in there, would you be asking if it was a "gimme"?

No because Dwight Freeney is 3 time Probowl end and Mario is still trying to prove himself suffering through often inconsistent performances.

Don't give me any BS. I was a Mario supporter from the beginning which is something that not many of you can say. It's pretty easy right now with Vince and Reggie sucking but 2 years ago when everyone's mom and dad was dogging the Texans, I was one of only 15% on this board that supported drafting Mario.

When Smokey does his VY, anti mario ****, I'm always there.

You guys are being really stupid. I did not assume anything. I did not say, "I bet it was a gimme" It was a freaking question.

The defense played really well today. Mario had good pressure on the qb several times that made him hurry his throw, resulting in an inc. Demps played really well, too. That guy loves to hit. Caused a fumble that lead to a touchdown. Another nice game by Bennett, also. Greenwood had a sack and a couple of hurries.

Offensively, Sage completed a lot of short passes and controlled the ball, since running game was barely adequate. Walker got quite a few carries and did okay, but I sure don't see the speed for him to ever be anything out of the ordinary. Pitts got dinged and had to leave the game for a few plays. They moved Winston to left guard and put Butler at right tackle. Boy, Black must be the worst signing of Kubiak's tenure. The guy can't even get in when there are multiple injuries to the OL.

I was really suprised the patchwork OL held up as well as it did. Tampa Bay is supposed to have a very good defense, other than containing the run somewhat, didn't handle the Texans OL.

Great game, Texans!

The Texans better address the O-Line this offseason either through the draft or free agency. I am not sure who is available in the free agent market on the O-Line. The O-Line has been a problem since day one of this franchise. They need to do something. They will never become a legit playoff team without addressing this need.

Four plus the two WC leaders. So really it's a 6 team race and the Texans have a lot of teams to leapfrog. It's still good to see the Texans listed in the "Still in the race" category in December.

Still say they should have given Sage a try before signing Schaub
[could have used those picks on linemen]

Rocket River

Good point...Schaub is an upgrade over Sage, but not by very much...having the picks on lineman would have likely been a differance this year.

Not so sure about that. Schaub still seems more polished to me. Sage's arm looks stronger.

Remember Shaub is 3 years younger too.

Schaub seems to have a problem taking a good lick...hope this year is a fluke, but if he continues to miss games here and there, then we will look back on the trade and contract and say it was a big mistake.

I'd rather have Schaub over Carr. Schaub is a pansy compared to Carr though, but Schaub is still the better QB (by a mile).

In this ESPN recap: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/recap?gameId=271209034

It says we were playing with a backup left guard and that Pitts is playing at RG, is that really true? I haven't been paying apt attention recently but I never would have guessed he would switch sides on the line. He played left tackle and guard for a long time.
