I came across this bit of information: The 50-50 Club. How many knew that Craig Biggio was 1 of only 2 players in league history to accomplish 50 steals and 50 doubles in a season.

Rickey Henderson hasn't done it. Ichiro hasn't done it. Pete Rose, Tony Gywnn, nobody but Biggio and Tris Speaker made it in 1912.

I bring this up because this kid Hanley Ramirez has a real shot at making it this year and according to a great scout he is considered the best all-around player not named a-rod.

Looks like you got your info directly from this ESPN link.

But I thought that the more interesting part of the story was that Curtis Granderson has the chance to equal Biggio's more incredible feat of zero GIDP in a season.

It is special milestones such as the 50-50 that make an unassuming Hall-of-Fame career special....His 98 season was tremendous. Add the 3000 hits, ability to succeed at multiple positions and you have one of the best all-around players in the modern era...

PlunkBiggio did a great list of the most prolific hitters for the seasons they played a couple of years ago. Biggio became the most prolific hitter for the seasons he played in April. It's really an interesting list.
