Latest video of Yao Ming inviting the world to the 2008 Olympics.

I have included 3 separate links here in case some of them won't work.

In the video he talked about his dream for 2008.

He mentioned that timing wise NBA final will be played in front of the Olympics.

He mentioned that during this summer the Rockets have strengthened the team with addition of new players, and he had also been working out on his own to enhance his game to prepare for the new season. As there is also a new change of the head coach, there will be a major change in game plan/strategies, as well as a period of adaptation and team-gelling, which he hoped will be a very short one.

He jokingly said if both of his dreams (i.e. NBA championship and an Olympic medal) could be realized in 2008, then he could then retire.

As to the 2008 Olympics, he considered it an once-in-a-life-time opportunity for a historical breakthrough for Chinese basketabll. In order to be able to have a chance to medal, he pledged all his national team mates to put in 100% effort in their training, such that they won't have to regret when they could not find the right plays in the Olympics. As for himself, he hopes he will be able to play at his best capabilities, and he firmly believes that he will be able to do so.

He also said there had been major shift of powers in international basketball in the recent decade, with USA losing the world championship and Olympic gold medal consecutively. Therefore he thought China currently does not have any advantage/edge over any other countries. He also thinks there are lots of areas that the Chinese national team to improve on, and everyone should put in their best efforts to get ready for the Olympics as there is no more time to waste.

Lastly he said China is ready for the 2008 Olympics, and with the support of the entire Chinese population, he would also like to invite athletes all over the world to participate in the 2008 Olympics, which he hopes will turn out to be one of the best and successful Olympics ever.

ENJOY !!! :D  ;)

Idiot.

The poster I responded to was making a backhanded jab against China, and he's hated on China before, so I called him on it. Americans really have no right to criticize China because their own country has such a shoddy record on what they try to pin China on.

great way to throw off another topic!

the poster was using something that we call a "sense of humor," you might want to look into getting one...

bringing up the Information Ministry is no way jabbing your country, it is a reference to the amount of info that a certain poster brings to the board...

but really, this is a great discussion!

You see it as a joke, but maybe the other poster saw it as something more because...you know, he knows more than you do on this particular matter?

How about drop this and talk about the main topic
