Congrats hopefully the beggining of many more awards to come.

Of course Oden and Durants didnt qualify for this award since they didnt play enough games but still this is very very impressive

How did Nate Robinson get Most Outstanding player and he wasnt even on the 1st team?

Brooks has impressed me, but size is the downer. He will be run over by the Billups of the league. Nevertheless, I like his fire and determination. He has impressive skills. Can't wait to see how he does with and against better players.

He's in a class all to his own ....
Or it means he gets MVP and 1st team is like an all-honorable mention to MVP list. They could have at least waited for the last couple games in the SL to finish

Edit:
Kevin Durant should be on an All-Coaster team instead of 1st team.
22.7 pts per game in the SL, but with only a 9.0 Efficiency? How do you even do that? 4 rebounds and 1 assist TOTAL the first 3 games. .305 shooting, 33 minutes a game.
Stats to make Adam Morrison proud.

Wow, what a huge turn around for this draft.

But to be honest, I think there were a couple of players out there that may have been more deserving. But for the best player to come out of no where and shock everyone certainly goes to him.

Louis Williams and Marco Belinelli had better stats, with Marco going undefeated as well. But I'll take it.

I haven't seen any of the summer league action. Not that I'm trying to bring down Brooks here, but I just want to know...

Has he really been better than our summer league all-stars of the past, like John Lucas and Dan Langhi? They both lit it up pretty well but looked scared playing with the big boys.

From what I did see around draft time of Brooks he looked like he was a more confident player than either of those two, so I'm definitely excited to see him doing well here. I'm just scared that he's going to be another Lucas/Langhi.

JL3 is one thing, but DL actually had some game. Just like Boki, the rockets did not give them an opportunity to succeed. DL dominated because he had game, not because of some summer league fluke. Little quick point guards typically do well in summer league because they are faster than the competition (see Brooks,JL3). Brooks however in the early stages has that it factor.....this nasty explosive quality that isnt just pure speed...as with any rookie, we have to wait and see. Just dont say DL was a bust when he had no shot at success.. hes probably tearing up the comp at a 24 hour fitness near you

He'll have to out-quick and out-think the Billups of the NBA. Give him a season or two under his belt, and then we can see what we really have.

Stats aside, there's a big distinction between AB and the other rooks we've had. As they mention in his bio, Brooks was the 1st and 2nd option for the team and led all of our rallies single-handedly. That's confidence. And confidence isn't something you can buy. This kid has the willpower of Iverson in him. Now lets wait and see if his game can get anywhere near to that of the Answer. Exciting? Absolutely. But 2 years in the making definately. :D

How many games do you have to play to qualify? Durant was on the first team list there...are you sure he didn't play enough games?

CONGRATS to Aaron Brooks! I think his game will translate well in the NBA! I have always like this pick from day one- when I saw clips of him in youtube & yahoo sports. The Rockets FO did a fine job of picking up the best available player @ #26. Also, I like Landry but he kinda struggles in the games, & I'm wondering if it's partly due fatigue? I won't give up on Landry just yet cuz I think that he can be a terrific player for the Rockets in a couple of years. I really like the Scola trade, along with Butler- now the team has some size & depth. BUT, I think the FO is not yet done making trades or via Free Agency.

Summer league is set up so that the PGs look good. Nobody is as fast as them, and the team defense is horrible.

The rookie award was given to a 6ft PG, Aaron Brooks.
The Most Outstanding Player ward given to 5'9 PG, Nate Robinson.
Four of the guys on the First team are 6'1" and under: Brooks, Barea, Lowry and Williams. Six of them are 6'4" and under, when you include Foye and Crittendon.

When play during the regular season, they give up 3-4 inches to other PGs and get abused during defense.

Brooks is good, but he will always be the 6th man at the most.

does anyone else not like nate robinson? okay you won the outstanding player award...that would mean so much if he wasn't about to enter into his 3rd year as a professional basketball player..

And who knows, maybe we'll run a zone or two this time around!

Billups can out-size an Aaron Brooks...

BUT CAN HE OUT-SIZE YAO MING?!

did anyone see his nasty three and dunk yesterday

Yup,

I wouldn't mind if Brooks was a perennial NBA 6th man winner.

There is no shame in that. We always lacked a speedy player that can break down defenses with a decent bball IQ. JLIII and SF were always looking for their own shots instead of setting other people up.

Rudy Gay also made the first team. Any chance we could ever get a guy like that?

Rockets had Brooks playing PG and he still averaged 3.2 rebounds a game... Durant should be able to pick up 3-4 rebound sleepwalking on the court no matter what position he plays.

Interesting logic you have there to conclude Brooks is nothing more than a 6th man. I'm hoping that Brooks is more of an Allen Iverson type of PG than a benchwarmer that you believe he will be. Time will tell, but he does appear to be the real deal.

Summer league is set up so that the PGs look good. Nobody is as fast as them, and the team defense is horrible.

I hope he could be more than a bench player, however, his size is an issue,at least defence wise...
