1. Metal Gear Solid (Snake, you idiot!)
2. Fear Effect (It's brand new, check it out)
3. Siphon Filter (Sequel available soon)
4. Intelligence Cube (addictive!)
5. Driver
6. Soul Reaver (The narrators voice rocks)
I'd also like to hear what you guys think are the most overhyped or overrated games. I was exteremly disappointed in the following:
1,2,3. All but the first Tomb Raider.
4,5. Resident Evil 2 & 3.
6. Phantom Menace (My friend's 4 year old beat this one)
7. The sequel to Parappa the Rapper (I forget the name) The first one was catchy, the second one sucked.
8. All the Street Fighters. This arcade game is not the same on a console. I put myself through College betting on this one, I was really disappointed with the PSX version.
What about you guys?

5) Crash Warped (It is part 3 of the Crash Bandicot series)
6) Atari Series (Only games my wife will play. She still loves Pac Man and Froger!)

Coming from a guy who rents and finishes games in less than a week on a regular basis, it is the ONLY game I bought. It is definately worth a look.

Other favorites.....
Atari - Berzerk (could play that for hours on end!!)
Nintendo - Tecmo SuperBowl
Sega Genesis - NBA Jam (Super fun!!)
PlayStation honorable mentions:
Tomb Raiders - if you can get the hang of the which way to steer Laura Croft
Gecko games, new 3D Frogger, High Heat 2000 (baseball), Tekken games (HOW DID I FORGET THESE!!!????), Soul Blade, Dark Forces, Rebel Assault II
Mulder, I agree on Star Wars Ep. 1 TPM game, too easy! But it's still cool to play through.
DON'T BUY:
Jet Moto 2
Rayman (unless you just like kids' games)
NBA JAM Extreme (loads toooooo slow, plays at an awkward angle)
Star Wars: Masters of Teras Kasi (fighting game/die hard Star Wars fans only... really kinda lame in the light of Tekken)
Best PC games anyone?

Old Nintendo: RBI Baseball (I still believe this is one of the funnest baseball games today)

PlayStation: Twisted Metal 2 one of the funner games, though NBA Live 2000 is very fun.
BTW, my older brother is working in Japan at the moment -- PS2 just came out there. Says it is INSANE how graphically awesome it is.

First of all. I own two games. Triple play Baseball 98 and Live Basketball 99. Those are pretty good. What is the Metal Gear Solid game all about?

I think Tecmo Bowl changed everything. That was the first game that I can think of that really looked at the individual talents of every player. I played that game all the time. In the original, the Bears and giants could block every kick attempt...heee heee! I got so good at the first version I could win with Seattle and Curt Warner. Run run run. My friends hated me.

One word:
DRIVER
That is the illest Playstation game (after Metal Gear Solid) ever to hit the racks. Give it a try if you haven't already.
Mulder

Driving the guy to the mob hit is one of the boldest moves in gaming in a Long time. I was freakin shocked and I loved it.
PC Games:
Quake
Unreal
Unreal Tournament
Roller Coaster Tycoon
StarCraft
WarCraft
Playstation
SoulBlade is my favorite all time game. I won a couple of tournaments locally here back in the day. I can't wait for PS2 to come out. I heard its going to be dual compatible. Meaning, you can still get PSI to play on it.
I don't know if anyone has Segas Mutant League Football. I thought that game was awesome!

As far as Playstation goes, everyone is forgetting what is one of the greatest RPGs ever. And, no, it doesn't have Final Fantasy in the title, but it is made by the same company: Xenogears. I'll have to admit, though, that is was text intensive, which probably turned a lot of people away. Their loss. =)

My favorite games are NBA LIVE 2000 and CRASH BANDICOOT. NBA LIVE has everything but the Slam Dunk Contest, and I bet that will be there for 2001.
Tip for everyone with little kids: Don't get them that Rugrats game. My 5 year old cousin got bored playing that!
Also, don't get an NBA game for the PC. To play it, you really need an EA SPORTS PC controller, and I couldn't find one anywhere!

NES: Metroid, Kid Icarus, Super Mario Bros, Zelda 1&2...
Genesis: Spider-Man(Sega's AWESOME true to the comics version- NOT Acclaim's horrible offering.)
Super NES: Yoshi's Island- IMO the best side-scrolling game of all time
N64: NBA Hangtime(racking up quadruple doubles with Drexler is sill a blast!)
Dreamcast: Armada(SUPER-addictive!!!)

Caucasion...
How can you like that Ready 2 Rumble. I think its just horrible. Limited, and quite slow on the combo's.
Dreamcast...
Soul Caliber is absolutely amazing
NFL and NBA2k rock solid. Anyone know about NHL2k? Still waiting on Shenmue, Castlevania, Resident Evil, and Rainbow six.
And by god, how could I forget Metroid. It was the coolest.
Anyone remember R.O.B., for the Nintendo?
Lord Tree

I've seen quite a bit of the Japanese Shenmue. It looks to be a very interesting game with A LOT to do. It does seem to lack some "cohesion" between everything that goes on... a sort of grand design to everything, I guess. Admittedly, my Japanese isn't all that great, so I am missing stuff.
Another one of my playstation and all-time favorites is Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. It didn't sell well, but was a superb game.

We have a Nintendo JUST so we can keep playing RBI. And for good laughs, the local laundry/bar has RBI 3, complete with the roundest players I've ever seen (although I think Fernando Valenzuela is probably drawn to scale). And those sound effects on fly balls are music to my ears...

I never seem to have the time for video games like I used to, but I still have my favs:
•Playstation:
-Mortal Kombat Trilogy (never really mastered this one, but I can still kick some ass).
-Street Fighter collection (I'll beat the hell out of anyone on this one, and you can quote me on that).
-Jedi Masters doesn't really qualify as a favorite, but I think it had alot of potential. I'd like to see a new/better version with more characters to choose from.
Oldie but goodie favs:
•Super Nintendo
-NBA Jam TE is my game.
•Atari (for those of us old enough to remember it)
-Remember Pitfall? That game was awesome.
-Defender was an awesome game too.
I'm waiting for the Playstation II before I get any more games. I can't wait to see the next versions of games like King of the Ring, NBA 200x, etc.
