Sony held a Gamers Day event earlier in the week, although they enforced an embargo on any info/media on the event that just ended at midnight pacific (2AM central). I'm not on a broadband connection, so I'll just point you guys to some sites to check out rather than post all the trailers, screens, info, etc., here.
For some new trailers:
http://www.gametrailers.com/
They have new (I hope?) trailers for Heavenly Sword, Ratchet And Clank, FolkLore, LittleBigPlanet, Uncharted, Eye of Judgment, Conan (also on 360/Wii), and Lair for the PS3. There are also some trailers for some new titles: SOCOM Confrontation, Pain (PSN), NBA 08, and High Velocity Bowling (PSN). Maybe a few others as sites post more media/info, and of course there is some PSP and PS2 stuff too I think (new Pursuit Force game). So check that out...I might finish downloading them all by E3. :(

Here's IGN summary page:
http://ps3.ign.com/articles/788/788743p1.html

http://www.gamevideos.com/
They have some PSP stuff too (Silent Hill Origins, God of War) as well as some Warhawk.

Also, Sony recently posted their FY results, and here's the game-related stuff:

Some customers might think the PlayStation 3's $599 retail price is high, but that's chump change compared to what the machine is costing Sony. The electronics giant today posted its financial results for the fiscal year and fourth quarter ended March 31, and as analysts predicted, the game division racked up significant losses.

For the fourth quarter alone, Sony reported an operating loss of $914 million from its game division, attributable primarily to the PS3. Sony's new machine was also responsible for a bump in gross revenue, as the company's gaming segment racked up sales of $2.4 billion and helped push company-wide sales to $17.7 billion, up 12.6 percent from the previous fourth quarter.

The full-year picture for Sony's gaming division was similarly grim, with the PS3 driving an increase in revenue, as well as operating losses. For its full fiscal year 2006, Sony's gaming group posted revenue up 6.1 percent to $8.6 billion, but suffered an operating loss of nearly $2 billion.

According to Sony's financial report, "This deterioration was primarily the result of loss arising from the sale of PS3s at strategic price points lower than its production cost during the introductory period, as well as the recording of other charges in association with preparation for the launch of the PS3 platform."

Sony's figures peg PS3 shipments at 5.5 million systems for the fiscal year, with 13.2 million games to go along with them. As for how its older systems fared, Sony reported hardware sales were down for the PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable. The company shipped 14.2 million PS2s for the year, down 2 million from the year before, while PSP shipments totaled 8.4 million, down 5.7 million from the year before. Since then, PSP shipments have slowed significantly, with less than 1 million PSPs arriving in North America and Europe since September of 2006, and a negligible amount in the January-March quarter.

The software picture looked a little brighter, as Sony said 54.1 million PSP games shipped to retail, up 12.5 million from the year before. However, PS2 game shipments dropped 30 million to 193 million units.

For the current fiscal year, Sony expects its game division to post better results, but still lose money.

"An increase in sales is anticipated as a result of the full-scale expansion of the PS3 business in Japan, the US, and Europe," Sony said in its quarterly report. "In addition, a significant reduction in operating loss is expected due to rapid reductions in hardware production costs and an enhanced lineup of software titles in the PS3 business."
FWIW, they also noted in another article that they've sold through ~3.6M PS3s.

There's been a dry spell on any decent, recent PSP games. Can't wait for the latter part of the year. The only game coming soon that I'm excited about is Dungeons & Dragons. Hopefully it's not a letdown.

It is taking forever to check out all these videos. :(

I checked out the trailer and on-stage demo of Uncharted at Gametrailers. That game looks amazing, probably the best-looking game I've seen (especially when you take the animation into consideration...too many next-gen games have poor animations IMO). I like the concept for the story, and the gameplay should be solid given ND's history (controls looked a little iffy though...maybe just me).

I checked out two videos for Heavenly Sword, and that looks as beautiful as always. R&C also looked very good, as the screens released a couple of months ago indicated. FolkLore looks nice graphically speaking, although so did Genji (the same developer for both titles); I like the concept, but it seemed like the gameplay could use some work. The one video I saw of Lair looked the same as the videos they put out a while back.

I was somewhat disappointed by the visuals and animation in the SOCOM trailer, although I think I read that it will be released as a downloadable title (similar to Warhawk), so maybe it deserves some slack. Plus, I guess it isn't like the SOCOM PS2 games were all that great looking, but still.

I have several more videos to check out (still haven't checked out any PS2/PSP stuff, and sites are still uploading videos from the event), but it seems like Sony has some amazing games lined up for 2007. I'll try to post some videos I liked later on, as well as some info (I think I saw that the Warhawk beta starts on May 24th).

I think I'm done checking out videos for now. Here are some of my favorites (all from GT.com, haven't checked out the ones at Gamevideos yet):

Being that all of these are PS3 games (except for GOW), remember to check out the HD versions for a better representation of how the visuals look. Still, you should be able to get a decent idea from these videos.

I haven't really had much of a chance to read about any info that came from the event, although I don't think anything major was mentioned.
