I'm starting in an hour or so at El Patio in Midtown. We'll see where the evening goes from there.

Just need to pace myself well enough to enjoy the Rockets kick the tar out of the Jazz tonight.

Is a real holiday, not something created like Valentines Day and all that.

It commemorates the victory of Mexican forces led by General Ignacio Zaragoza over the French occupational forces in the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862.
And it was more like a victory to raise morale, because Napoleon III send more troops to Mexico and then the French takeover of Mexico.

But in the US think that Cinco de Mayo is Mexico's Independence Day, which is celebrated on September 16th ("Dieciseis de septiembre" in Spanish).

The Independence day was in 1810, 52 years before the battle of puebla.

Here in Mexico they dont celebrate this holiday with a big party and all of that, well only in Puebla.
