They Dynamo finish the semi-final series of the CONCACAF Champions Cup against Pachuca on Thursday. The go into the road game with a two goal advantage but Pachuca has been playing well lately, their last three games they've won 3-0, 4-2, and 5-0. They also have the advantage of playing at high altitude.
The game will be shown on FSC. I'm not sure what time it is though, the Dynamo site lists it at 7:30 but the FSC schedule shows it at 8:30.
If we advance to the final then we will qualify for either the Club World Cup with a win or Copa Sudamericana so there is a lot on the line in this game.

If they can get a goal early, that would be huge. Pachuca would have to go all out attack a that point, leaving them open for a counter. Everyone is back from national team duty. Ching didn't play last week and Wade Barret only played a few minutes on Wed. Hopefully, they got to town early enough to acclimate to the altitude. It doesn't take long, but you definitely don't want to play just after getting off the plane. I've done that before and it sucks...
I say Pachuca wins this 2-0 and Dynamo win in a shootout. Wells saves 3.

Pachuca is the SUPER LíDER (leader of points) in the Clausura 2007 Spring championship in MEXICO. It will be tough.
GO DYNAMO!!!!! BEAT PACHUCA!!!!
I don't know, LEROY420... Calero is really good... he plays for the COLOMBIAN National Team... :(

Not having Clark for this game due to injury will definitely hurt. Frankly, I'm pretty scared about this game due to the altitude - that is a huge advantage for Pachuca.

Gameday bump...
Does anyone know when they might have gotten to town? I know that DC spent 9 days in Gudalajara before their game. It doesn't take but a day or 2 to get acclimated to the altitude.
I still have a feeling that this is going to extra time and pk's. I feel pretty good about our chances of getting through. It's going to be tough. I'm sure Pachuca doesn't want the embarassment of losing to a bunch of gringos at home.

I have not heard anything about their trip down there or their training because the chron has not covered anything. I will say this, y'all should tune in to watch the game because with no Astro or Rockets game tonight the city needs to turn it's attention to this because it is a pretty big deal.

Bernardo Fallas mentioned at some point (I can't rememebr when) that the Dynamo were planning to go down only 2 days early. I hope this doesn't hurt them, but who knows. 8,000 feet is tough.

I heard he is still under contract to his Euro team.

Yes, the plan the entire time was for him to finish his contract with Real (which ends at the end of May), take some time off, then join the Galaxy in August.

Nothing for Dynamo to hold their heads down about. They forced Pachuca to score 5 freaking goals to win it. The last one, while the ref should have been a bit less of a p***y and called the half, was a fantastic hit.
Nice run by the Dynamo. I just hope they can recover in time for the season opener this weekend.

I wish there's away goals rule then the Dynamo would have eliminate Pachuca and advance to the champions cup final. Oh well, they will get their revenge in the Superliga this summer.

That was a very exciting game, but obviously a tough loss. So frustrating that the ref had his whistle in his mouth just before the Gimenez goal in OT . . . :(

It's a tough call. At the time he had the whistle in his mouth, Gimenez hadn't made a move towards goal. It should have been blown at that time. On the other hand, I can't blame the ref for giving it one more second to see what might happen. It was a hell of a shot...one of the best I've seen in a while. Wells could do absolutely nothing. You can't get anymore upper 90 than that was.

I completely agree, I'm not sure he should have blown the whistle or not - it's very close. It's just frustrating as a fan to have it happen that way. Having said that, officiating was terrible last night on many calls, including many that benefited the Dynamo. There were just far too many incorrectly called plays overall including Pachuca's first goal, Pachuca's 2nd penalty, Dynamo's first goal, and handball non-call against Dynamo.

Me and about 15 other Dynamo fans went to the game, I´m in the Mexico City bus station now wasting time at an internet cafe. The game was incredable even though the result wasn´t good. We had guards around us the whole game but the fans there were all friendly. We traded scarves and jerseys with random fans and took pictures with them. We had about 60 cops in riot gear escort us out and we rode in the back of their trucks back to the hotel. Overall it was an amazing experience.
For the team to hang in there and fight the way they did made the trip worth it. And Pachuca played very well, we gave them all they could handle but they came out on top.
