Couldn't find a link for some reason, but heard it on 610 this morning.
We'll miss him depth-wise, but I'll trade Dayne for Green any day. I guess the RB depth chart is now Green-Taylor-Lundy.....unless AP falls to us, that is....

Green will get injured. Our running game will suffer. Carr's friends will tell us that Carr still hasn't had a running game good enough to allow him to throw for more than -5 yards. 6 more years of Carr.

So, D. Williams won't be ready for the start of the season? Is his career done?

It's not the Carr's fault he's stuck in traffic!
Hold on to that Enron stock...when it goes up again you're going to look mighty silly.

His career was done a long while ago, he needs more surgery last I heard.

Kinda sad to see him go. He looked like he "got it" towards the end of the season -- the most enjoyable part of watching the Texans offense was seeing him move the pile forward like a man. He's ridiculously strong.
But obviously Ahman Green is much better, and who knows, maybe Chris Taylor could turn out to become a nice speedy stud to complement him in the backfield.
To those hoping Peterson will fall to us, forget it. The only way in hell we get Peterson is if we trade up.

Either he "got it" or he realized that he was in the last year of his contract. My guess is the latter.

I guess this DOES mean we're getting another QUALITY RB via draft, free agency,or trade.
I thought Dayne ran well, especially considering the state of the line.
Instead of the usual 3rd -5th round sleeper that fits Denver South might we actually be moving up to take the FRANCHISE RB....AP baby?!?!

The Texans will not trade up, they want to get more picks, not trade them away.

But what if AP is sitting there at 8, drool, you'll have to give me a moment.

Friday, March 16
The Philadelphia Eagles reached an agreement Friday with free agent RB Correll Buckhalter on a two-year contract. The deal is expected to eliminate the chance that the Eagles would sign free agent RB Ron Dayne, who visited the team earlier this week.

it's kinda like Groundhog Day. see your shadow and it means one more year of DC.Can you just picture all the pressure on Carr with the media and fans next season if he came back? He already has the VY shadow and if the Texans pass up Quinn and Quinn goes on to have a good season then he will have another qb he would have to live up to. He's almost in a no win situation in Houston. If he does comeback its going to be one long year for that guy.

At some point I'm sure a mod will fix the thread title, since Dayne re-signed with the Texans today.

Be kind, he's a D-Leaguer trying to play in the Association, to mix metaphors from FB to BB.
He is definitely not a ready for prime time player. It doesn't make him a bad guy it just means he should be doing his tutorial in a small market somewhere.

Exactly. At about the 2-4 mark in the season it won't be pretty. But there will be plenty of excuses on why it didn't make sense to make a change

that's funny, foster was reporting the story of that former baseball commish dying. I think his name was khun. anyway, dude was 80, jeremy on his flash thurs or fri said he was 40, and proceeds to talk about his tenure in the 60s.

Yeah it's hard to believe anything Jeremy Foster says.
He's totally unprofessional and a joke.
He's not even funny and has a really bad singing voice.
He brings down the show IMO.
One thing it seems he is very good at is eating!
i like fizzle.
i like his comercials, even though his are taped, and everybody else is live.
I like the Shaw's Felix Navidad comericial.
He's an Astros Rally singer.
Can't beat that.

Well...I saw on ESPN the night this was posted that Ron Dayne had agreed to a deal with the Texans... didn't quite follow after that so I don't know what the details were.

one day in 2001 before 610 went to espn, the first time they were with sportingnews, jeremy was the national programming's correspondant for baseball games in houston. so when sportingnews does their score updates on saturday, the guys in studio go, let's go to jeremy foster for an update between the astros and whoever at enron field. then jeremy goes, "hello, is this the tape room?". the national guys made fun of him.
all that being said, I like the guy also. the singing is classic.
