After Knicks beat Wizards tonight, it's now the 8th seed in East Conference. They should have a very decent chance to be in playoffs this year. Good job Ishiah.

Still remember George Karl and Ishiah Thomas exchanged words in that Knicks Nuggets brawl? At that time Nuggets looked so powerful, and they looked even more powerful after Karl got AI. Someone every predicted them as Champ contender. And then everyone took Knicks as a ****ty lotto team.

What a sarcacism! Couple months later Nuggets looks like shxt and Knicks are hoping their first playoffs in many years. LOL.

If the trend continues, I expect Karl will be fired after this season and Ishiah will get the due credit. Though it's still a little early in the season to say the final result. But I do know Denver media are discussing it's time for karl to leave.

I am not a Karl hater, neither a Ishiah fans. I am just amazed by the contrast.

Thomas is a good coach, but just a horrible GM.

Agreed. The Knicks are actually a complete and deep team (if all healthy), just very young and have no leader. After all they have the highest payroll by far. :) I could see them making some noise in the PO if they manage to make to the 7th spot.

LOL. The Knicks are fighting desperately for the 8th seed in the EAST. Ya. Isiah is a good coach. Sweet logic.

So what? When evaluating a team's performance, you don't just look at its ranking, the key here is the huge gap between reality and expectation. Everyone thought Knicks would be a lotto team and then Ishiah be fired after this season; while everyone expected Nuggets be a champ contender after they got AI. And now what?

Sarcacism???

Yeah, I'm surprised you're the first one to wonder what the hell he means by that.

Perhaps he meant ironic situation.

I came into this thread thinking it somehow involved sarcastic racism.

From now on I'm gonna use the word "sarcacism" - I thought it was a combination of "sarcasm" and "schism" for some reason.

Sarcacism???

I think he meant "ironing"...where the situation smoothes itself out over time.

Preferably with flesh burning steam.

Sorry it's a typo of sarcasm. However, if you search for "sarcacism" in google, you could get lots of results:

"sarcacism (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&as_qdr=all&q=sarcacism&btnG=Search) "

For example, in this online slang dictionary:

http://www.slangsite.com/slang/S.html

you see this:

sarcacism, sarcacistic: the noun and adjective for someone who is sarcastic and critical(criticism) at the same time
Example: He was filled with sarcacism when he heard about that idea. He was sarcacistic.

:D

Can't believe what?

yeah, that's nice but it's a made-up internet word like "noob" and "pwned", not really accepted as a real word yet.

What you want to say is "Karl vs. Isiah: How Ironic!!"

It conveys the meaning better.

i believe the knicks are the only team in the NBA to improve its winning % each month.

starbury has been playing like a man possessed, esp. when crawford went down.

isiah is an OK coach, some of his decisions (ie his reluctance to use renaldo balkman, who is without a doubt better in every facet of the game than jared jeffries) continue to perplex knicks fans.

regardless, just being in the playoff hunt this late in the year is a great feeling. go knicks!

Fair assessment on Karl's terrible coaching.

Isiah, however, needs an astricks on a job well done. For one thing, the Knicks don't play well...they just happen to play the least horrid out of all the crappy teams in the East. All the Knicks have to do is go 4-6 while teams like Indiana lose eight in a row ( and counting... ) and NY is in the playoffs.

This has little to do with Isiah's coaching skills. That's like being a D student in a class where so many others got an F.

Want to know an Eastern coach that's doing a good job this season? Mo Cheeks of the Sixers. Very limited talent; solid ball. Philly's overachieving and I seriously hope they pull a miracle and land the eighth spot.

Sarcas-as-izm indeed.

By the way, when I first read the title of this thread, I automatically assumed it was about Karl Malone giving Isiah an elbow back in the late 80's.

I tried using "sarcaism in a sentence at a meeting at work this morning-I hoped it would make me appear clever. No one commented or seemed to notice. I'm not giving up though-I will continue to represent the word....

By the way, fresh off the wire: Isiah Thomas signs a multi-year extension to remain president and head coach of the Knicks.

Wow. More Isiah stories on the way!

Thie Knicks will be a LOT better next year. They will no longer have the contracts of...
Allan Houston ($20.7 mil)
Jalen Rose ($16.9 mil)
Mo Taylor ($9.7 mil)
Shandon Anderson ($8.5 mil)
Jerome Williams ($6.5 mil)
and Kelvin Cato ($1 mil)

That's $63.3 milllion of contract fat that will be trimmed off their team after this season! That still leaves them at $75.9 million for their roster, but that's much better than where they are now.

Big question is whether he gets his GM keys back.

An extension? Haha, poor Knicks. I think Isiah has done a decent coaching job, but I don't see how he keeps the presidency for that.

Lol, stop pretending like you used a real word. I'd give you more slack if you didn't repeated call Isiah "Ishiah."

Zeke is good at drafting but all the other gm duties he sucks. If I was dolan I would let him have the final say on who the knicks draft but leave the other gm stuff to some one else. Any one else for the love of god.
