I was just talking to a co-worker who is a KC fan. He just told me this is huge and a pick-up that will help big-time. Good.

VERY nice.

If Spencer comes back and Winston continues to develop, the OL might be pretty decent next year.

Now, a signing like this is what I was dreaming about back in March of 2005!

exactly

man I hope Spencer comes back healthy; I hear Spencer is really keeping in shape, losing a considerable amount of weight and such

Kansas City fans I'm talking to now say he struggled at left tackle but really excelled at guard. So this signing might really pay off if Spencer can come back healthy and allow Pitts and Black to play inside.

Of course, post-concussion Trent Green was slow enough that he made Drew Bledsoe look like Vince Young. So I take everything with a grain of salt.

Who? Here's a direct comment from the Chiefs board, "Ouch, I hate to say it but the worst offensive line in football just got a little bit worse." Here's another quote from their board, "no offense, but this is the best thing I have seen you write.......lol.... your right. I'm glad we passed on him. To many bad I-65 memories, i cant go through another year."

From I've been reading. He's not guarenteed a starting spot, he'll have to compete to get one. That's per houstontexans.com.

Ouch. I haven't seen this guy play so I don't know if he is any good or not, but atleast he is an o-lineman.

It seems that he can play 4 different positions on the OL. Hopefully Spencer will make a full come back because I would love to have him at LT and Black at RT, we'll also have more time to develop Winston rather than having to throw him right in the fire.

He gave up 13 sacks last year.

I think he'll fit right in.

Remember the standard in KC at OL is Willie Roaf. Anyone other than him is probably pretty much garbage according to the fans there.

Just like until there is a Munchak-type player that comes out of the rubble for the Texans, in our opinion everyone we have either sucks or is overrated.

As a KC fan, to say he struggled at LT is putting it mildly. Yes, we were spoiled with Roaf at LT but Black was completely brutal as a replacement and easily one of the worst starting LT's in the league last season.

Still I kind of like the pickup and the contract was very reasonable for this market. Myself and some KC fans think he could potentially make a serviceable guard and that is really his natural position but he never really got much time in there because of necessity. At worst he is decent depth so long as he doesn't get forced back into the LT position which is well beyond his abilities.

He was really that bad playing both LT and RT over the last two seasons.

“I think that Jordan has been the most improved player on the offensive side of the football when you look at the starting 11 and the impact that he’s had,” said Kansas City quarterback Trent Green.

They have a weird reaction... Usually when a scrub moves on people don't get that angry...err...happy about it.

Guess he is still suffering the effects of the concussion.

Green isn't really one of those that will trash one his teammates.

Think about how the reaction would be if one of the Texans worst starters moved on.

Ok, thanks for the clarification. So, at least this gives us some serviceable depth. Trust me this guy is STILL an upgrade from the great Seth Wand. He couldn't run block, he couldn't pass block. Despite all, our OL work has been SO collectively pathetic, that even with your description of this guy, Black, he laughingly is probably STILL an improvement overall to our OL. Yes, it's true the Texan OL is THAT bad! It's just our QB hasn't helped any in this capacity even when the OL work was remotely adequate.

Zach weigert was cut last week. I don't remember seeing a great deal made about him moving on...

I follow the Texans I guess unfortunately as my secondary team. I don't think he is on the level of Wand as a bad tackle and isn't a laughable addition to the line. I won't be troubled if Black ends up as the starting RG next season.

Good point. I hate cross sport comparisons but the heat that Black got from KC fans over the last two years is similar to what Rafer has gotten this year but is was definitely more deserving.

Very good signing.

Insurance policy against Spencer and provides depth.

With our other moves,I wouldn't be surprised if we move down and take a CB while picking up an extra pick or two.

But don't discount Brady Quinn.
