I just realized I was upgraded from jr. member to member. How many posts do you have to be upgraded?

It's too many, whatever the number is....and how do I check the total number of posts I have? I can only find the most recent ones.

Hey, this one will bring me even closer!!! So, what do I get when I become a member???? A free trip to a gentlmen's club with Barkley, or what?

Wait, why am I still a rookie then?

ehh, did you re-opened this thread from 7 years ago???

The rule about becomming a member has changed, since so many new posters came along.

Wait, why am I still a rookie then?

Because 1) you resurrected a thread from the previous millennium , and 2) you actually had to ask why you're still a rookie

Ah, I'm just playin' ;) Hope you get off the bench soon

You guys are such crack-ups :) :)
Wait, shouldn't there be a reward for finding an old hidden treasure? :D

OK, now, what's the new rule? Got to have something to look forward to, you know.

I want to know how many posts make you the ever-elusive "Senior Contributing Member."

I recall way back when... (as in '00) when Clutch had stated something about a certain contribution combined with a certain amount of posts allowed you to designate your own name.

To all who don't like their current standing? Contribute more. I'm sure Clutch will respond on what the post count need be.

Hell, I'm sure Mark Cuban could have whatever title he wanted on his first post for $100,000. But I digress.

Let David determine this when he feels like it.

I think rookies should become members when 20 contributing members recommend them for membership based on the value of their posts. For some rookies, that might take a week, for others it may never happen.

Can you become a contributing member while donating money, but only having like 5 posts?

Yes, you can, the only way you can become a contributing member is donating money to support this site.

Ha, I guess that means your just reversing the age process.

Dont worry old buddy - I went down the whole senior member to rookie status road. Pretty much cause I got overly excitted about having 2 weeks off work and spending every spare minute posting on as many topics as possible.

I probably got the benching for jamming the system.

that's exactly what happened to me.. I had Thanksgiving break and I got excited too... so I started posting like 50 posts a day. and I guess that's what messed me up.. I better stop posting before I turn into a rookie again.. :D

the weird thing is that last summer, I was a rookie , then I became a member, then a rookie again, then I went overseas and didn't post a single time for 2 months , when I came back, I became a senior memeber.

Sounds like BS to me. Some people don't have much money and give what they can. Every penny is contribution in my opinion.

You also need to make sure to include your username when donating so he knows who to credit it to.

Sometimes Clutch is busy with all his work outside this site, so can take a long time to check the mail, and also you have to put your username to clutch knows who is contributing.

no

let me tell you what is BS.

BS is expecting one man to use only his own money to keep a site this large up and running at all times by himself.

yes, he recently (just recently, it was totally adfree for years) put up ads to help out with the costs (which are considerable) of the server and bandwidth....but it still costs him quite a bit in time and money to keep this site what it is.

If there wasnt a minimum, you would have alot of cheapskates sending 50 cents or a dollar and expecting full contributing benefits.

Even broke college students can spare 5 or 10 bucks at least once...he isnt making folks donate constantly....just once is the minimum requirement.

tho...if you spend any time whatsoever here every day...you damn well need to donate more than once.

as an added note....to anyone that has every asked me how to compensate me for the vids (yes, I have been asked quite often)...take that money you were offerng and send it to Clutch...I say it in every thread I post ...and it is still as true as ever...He cant do it alone...help the man out for the many hours of enjoyment his site gives you.

which reminds me....end of year means I need to give some cash...especially since I generate so much extra traffic the day after every game. Headed your way later today. ;)

I have a question that may not be related to this thread, but I don't know where else to ask it.

How do we get to edit our posts?

I posted something without thinking but I can't edit my posts because I am a rookie. Do you need to be a member or a contributing member or what?

just out of curiosity, any ideas on why you would get downgraded from senior Member to member?

it really doesn't matter with me because I rarely start new threads, I think I've started only 3 threads since I became a member. I just thought it would be interesting to know

just a guess based on Clutch's known disdain towards post-whoring...

I would guess that he ran your posts thru the QPC and you came up lacking...

really....

Those little titles mean very little (except for the contributing title)..member, sr member, jr member....they dont earn you any more cred....your post quality history says much more than a title does.

HayesFan......you must be a contributing member to have edit ability.
