I was thinking the other day about all the great posts and threads that have taken place at the Clutch BBS, and invisioned a separate read-only forum where the all-time great threads could be placed.

I'm not sure if you have past threads and if there's any way of retrieving it, but wouldn't it be cool? I've been a viewer at this BBS since last summer and a poster since December and during my short time here at the always exciting BBS, there's been some good stuff written.

From LHutz to Almu, from Will to Jeff, from AntiSonic to Clutch. From Almu's idea of trading Hakeem to the invasion of the Faker fans (well, that wasn't a great one), the list is endless, and if there were a way to capture all the greats at their best it would be awesome.

By the way, didn't you just celebrate the site's 3rd anniversary Cluch? Congrats!

Thanks Azim -- the BBS has really grown. It's been fun ... I know I can't go too long without checking in.

Great idea -- if we could find the server space to store everything (we already have quite a bit from Digital Media but we find a way to max it out quickly) I would never delete the posts. I would like to find a place to store some of these really good posts though.

As for the page -- yep, 3 years on August 8th. (Actually the page was started on the 7th, but wrote the first article on the 8th -- a pro-acquire-Barkley article -- and the first Super Mario's World that day also). It's been a blast -- I can't believe I'm still doing it or it has grown to this kind of commitment to be honest. http://bbs.clutchcity.net/ubb/smile.gif

What I don't have any "great posts" http://bbs.clutchcity.net/ubb/wink.gif Remember, I broke the Stoudamire trade news, oh I better not mention that. Anyway, just thought I'd stop in and let you know (again) how proud I am to have been around for every clutchcity.net milestone. (Except for the opening of course, but I was here two weeks later) It's amazing that when I look back at all of the changes that have taken place since CC has been open. I applaud you for having a life outside of this, and I thank you for having me in at your party.

Keep up the Clutch job!!!

your bud,
-Turbo

Turbo -- thanks buddy http://bbs.clutchcity.net/ubb/smile.gif

SirCharlesFan -- thanks for the offer. If we can get some of this organized, we may take you up on it. Thanks for making it available though.

Since I started hanging around in here, I've seen a couple of references to an old thread titled "Hakeem is not a Legend" or "Hakeem is no longer a Legend", something like that. I'm sure that one caused quite an uproar. Maybe that can be put back up. It must have been a good one since people still comment about it occasionally.

Clutch,

The server I have for my dialup account has 100 megs of space and you are welcome to half that. I use about 50 to store MP3's of stuff I record for my production company, but the other 50 is really wasted.

If you ever want to use some of it, just let me know.

Well, while we're on the subject of great threads...

I think it was Rocketgirl who started the blockbuster thread of last summer(on the old board) concerning Charles Barkley's presumed horrible shape at the time. It ended up with something like 70 replies(which believe it or not was pretty huge at the time. Perhaps it could be seen as a forerunner to the 90+reply threads of today? Heck, it even got a spinoff thread in "KILL THE BARKLEY THREAD." http://bbs.clutchcity.net/ubb/smile.gif). Anyway, the thread just kicked ass and basically had just about every argument for or against Barkley you could think of, from spitting on a little girl, to throwing a guy out a window, to whoopin' Seattle's ass.

Another fun one was LHutz's debut. Some of the lines there were just classic.

Personally, I love the debate threads. All the multiple "Greatest Player Ever," "Should We Trade Hakeem?," "Dream vs. $haq," and "Optimists vs. Pessimists" threads come to mind.

And who could forget Plato's epic philosophical battle with Nietzche(sp?)? Now that was entertaining stuff!

Clutch, how much server space are you looking for? I have wuite a bit of FTP space through my ISP. Let me know if I can be of service.

Jeff, you must have the same ISP as me cause I also get 100 megs.

Almu, we've all forgiven ya. Stress can easily cloud a persons line of thinking. That one is just a little hard to forget though because it caused such an uproar. It's all good though brother!

Othella, you will be missed. A moment of silence please.

Everytime I see someone bring up my worst post of all time(Hakeem is no Legend)it just reminds me how stressed out I was really.

I will never forget the LHutz post calling me a hiporcrit. That is the all time classic bar none.

I never got to read that "Hakeem's no legend" thread either. I'd like to see what people had to say.

When Tod the Bod started that "Rudy T Sucks!" thread, all hell broke loose - Like 50 more posts by the next day and about another 50 by the time it was deleted - It was mostly pointless crap, but it made me laugh like nutty! My all-time favorite "Stockton needs to be injured" by SpaceCity. It was like the coming out of the closet party where we all admitted how much we hated Stockton. I still don't like the brother, but Karl Malone is public enemy number one right now...

What about my "How Did You Get Your Handle" thread? I think it got like 92 responses.

Tod the Bod, Almu, LHutz... all have had awesome, long, hotly debated topics that would still be fun to read.
