People seem to forget the fact that the LA/HOU series was that close to going to game five. The team played admirable. They played tough and were in games 3 and 4. .... with Dream on the bench most of the time. Just think if the officaiting was lagite, then Dream would have contributed more.
I think that if they would have pushed the ball more on the break the way they did the final 2 games of the season, then that would have brought them over the top. Thats why we saw poor production from the Rookies. During the final 2 games they had big nights all because of the fast break. We had a chance to run. Especially in game 4. The Lakers crumbled in the 3rd but the Rocks never capitalized. They shot to many 3s. The way the lakers were running at the shooters, a pump fake and then a drive to the basket for a 15-20 foot jumper would have put us back in the game in no time.
I see alot of potential in this team. Lets face it...Shaq is the most dominant center in the game now. There IS NO ONE in this league that can keep him from banging his big ass in low and getting the 5ft jumper or gorrilla dunk. Dream just needed to get him in foul trouble. How? drive to the basket and not fake or spin so much. David Robinson has shown a weakness. Shaq HAS NO DEFENSE! yea he blocked Catino's shot in endof game 1, and blocked Dream quite a few times, but Dream is still quicker and can take him off the dribble the way David did the other night and cause him to foul.
Next year when the new running system is put in place I think we will see some very good things happen. If Charles comes back then its a big plus. If he doesn't, We have Othella who shined in his place. To Next Year!!!!
