Hands down bro, if you want to impress.

The best part is you get almost everything Fogo de Chao has to offer only much cheaper. The service is top of the line and the owner goes to every table to check in on your meal. Its very new and I've already been there 3 times!

michaelangelo's on westheimer and montrose, they got a guy playing the piano and a tree in the middle of the restaraunt, real classy and small and around 13 - 20 bucks per entree

Cici's Pizza.

Then you can tell her she can get all she can eat. She'll be yours!

Seriously, though, I've never eaten here but I hear good things about the atmosphere at The Rainbow Lodge.

Mark's.

I second this.

Very romantic, great service and amazing food.

Nelores is not really cheaper then Fogo, so why anybody would want to go to a copycat is beyond me. Stick with the original - Fogo baby!

Americas is absolutely amazing.
Brenners is really romantic and the best steak in town.

Anybody know what happen to Aldo's Con Amore? That was the most romantic restaurant in Houston, but I think it shut down.

I've been wanting to try out Rainbow Lodge's new location. It used to be Houston's most romantic restaurant.

T'afia, Ibiza, Catalan, Dolce Vita, Mia Bella, Michaelangelos, Ruggles, Bon Appetit, Indika...You may be hard pressed to find a reservation though, especially one at a popular dinner time, i.e. 6:15-9:15.

Also Damiens, Zula, Bossa, Cava Bistro.

We enjoy dining.

Might be time for another restaurant thread...:D

I am impressed with you guys.

BenignDMD & praxdapimp...I'm surprised y'all and I haven't bumped into each other at one of the places you two listed! I was at both Mykonos Island & Dolce Vita about 3 weeks ago. :D

I'll name two everyone hasn't named yet....

State Grille - run by the Mandolas now...excellent food
Arturo's - very good upscale Italian

Rizzy...it might be tough getting a reservation anywhere for tomorrow night....you might have to cook for her and take her out this weekend!!

The three best meals I've had in Houston area restaurants are Mark's, Da Marco, and Chez Nous.

didn't realized they moved. That's where La Tour D'Argent was. It's a quirky location. Interesting. Nice foot path down to the bayou. It has a very similar feel to their original location but more woodsie outside. I'm not surprised they chose that spot. That part of Ella is not too romantic, but the building is.

apparently not. Robb Walsh says they closed to anti-French telephone threats following 9/11. A couple other French restaurants had the same problem.

Unreal......I'm gonna have a hissy fit if I have to go to France just to get my Foie Gras fix. Of course, Quebec will probably always be there for me.

Do you know how much stinky **** a goose makes when you force feed him for five or six weeks? I'd need some serious acreage to do that.

But......if I they ever ban it here, I'm getting me some geese, some tubing, and some grain.

Rox_fan_here,

Just got back from Nelore. Took the GF there and it was absolutely great. The service was outstanding and the food was excellent.

Excellent suggestion.

one on I-45 north near Tokyohana and China Bear Buffet. Zio's food is great when you factor in how cheap it is.

Man, that is crazy. Must be the same people who call French fries -> freedom fries. Hey, I've got an idea, DON'T EAT THE DAMN FRIES FATASS! It's like me going vegetarian and calling my medium-rare steak a carrot. But I digress...back to your regularly scheduled thread...

BTW, I'm not in Houston, but I'm going to a tapas restaurant tomorrow. I find tapas places a good conversation-type dinner with all the different itmes and such. All the tapas places I've been to are upscale restaurants. I was wondering, aren't they just average get together restaurants/bars in Spain?

literally hundreds/thousands of Tapas places.

coffee shops have tapas
bars have tapas
tapas bars, obviously, have tapas
basically, every plays that has tapas served from the bar are "average get together" places in Spain. They aren't upscale restaurants. They aren't really called restaurants at all. Most of them don't have waiters.

coincidentally: Mi Luna (a tapas restaurant) in the Village has a nice classical guitar band playing tonight. I was thinking of ended up there. Thinking maybe it wouldn't be too crowded (relatively speaking) since I wouldn't consider a tapas place in Houston to be "romantic."

I don't want to give her a diamond ring, a fancy dinner don't mean a thing!

This year she's getting:

My junk in a box!

1 Put a hole in a box

2 Put your junk in that box

3 Open the box

I heard it was Pa Cavatore's pet project and when he retired or passed away the family sold it.
