View Full Version : Forget Tmac for AI, How bout this instead

Let me start by saying I am not in favor of trading Tmac, but I do see why the Rox should at least consider it. However rather then going after AI who I dont see blending well with Yao, how bout this trade instead
Rox trade Tmac and Deke to Chicago
Bulls trade PJ Brown, Chris Duhon, Luol Deng and Thabo Sefolosha to Houston
Why it works for the Bulls: PJ Brown wants out of Chicago and soon. The Bulls would be taking a risk on Tmacs back, but a lineup of Wallace, Nocioni, Tmac, Gordon, and Heinrich would make them clear cut favorites in the East. Deke gives them a decent backup to Wallace and his contract goes away this year or next. They do give up young talent, but with the chance to swap picks with the Knicks next year they can quickly replace it in a very solid draft with a high pick.
Why it might work for the Rox: Deng gives them a solid scorer and Duhon a solid playmaker. Neither are superstars like Tmac, but we go from a two superstar formula to a one superstar formula with other really good players ie: Dallas and SA. The Rox were high on Sefolosha and probably would have drafted him if Battier wasnt available. PJ Brown is a JVG type player and gives us help up front, and we get away from our tiny lineup in the backcourt. Imagine Yao, Brown, Deng, Battier, and Duhon starting with a bench of Wells, Head, Snyder, Hayes, Rafer and Juwon. Yes Rafer could finally be benched and Juwon has earned his PT this year so far.
Why it might not work: Im not sure if the Bulls pull the trigger because it leaves them pretty thin. Honestly I think the Rox would have to include Head instead of Deke, or a future 1 rounder and Deke for the Bulls to have interest. Both deals work under the salary rules. I think Tmac would have to come back and be solid again first before Chicago thinks about it. If he does that Hou becomes more reluctant about it.
Like I said, Im not sold on trading Tmac yet, but if we decide to what do you guys think?

No way gonna happen.
Knowing that Rox already give up on TMac, which team would be stupid enough to take his 17 mil contract?

Bulls will not fall in the trap. They are very solid team and play well recently. Why they want TMac. Give me a reason.

You can't trade an injured player with a huge contract. TMac is having chronic back problems; who would want to pay him 20mill + per year to be in and out of the lineup and perhaps end his career at any time? The Rockets are facing this possibility, but no one else wants to. I hope they have some kind of insurance a la Bagwell and the Astros, otherwise, if TMac goes down for good, so do the Rockets. I think I just depressed myself. :(

They do need a go-to guy, a consistent scorer. But I dont think they would even consider this trade.

bulls is a solid team now, but they don't have a 'super-star' like wade, AI, kobe, etc .. they need one such player to sell their tickets. Vince Carter may not able to bring you a ring, but he sells tickets, so managers want him. The deal above is quite good for bulls. t-mac's back will never be as good as before, face it.
I can't start a new thread so i'll just piggy back on this one.
I've been thinking about a trade that could help us. What about Earl Watson for Bonzi when Jan 2nd comes around? Watson is a 3pt shooter and a defender. Plus he's not happy in Seattle. You guys think this would be a good deal and would Seattle do it? They're desperate for ticket sales.

Why the hell would the Bulls do this... TMAC isn't himself and Deke is worthless except for some blocks... Think of logical trades

how about tmac for vince he actually shoots a little better from the field plus he would allow yao to be the superstar plus the nets want to get something for him before he leaves for nothing just a thought that's it because i really don't want to give up on mac just yet

The Rox can't trade T-Mac! He is too important to the set-up of this team. Yes he does have back problems, but watching the Laker games makes it clear how important he is to this team. Injury or not, other teams have to respect his range and ability so they are going to drop 2/3 on Yao every single time down the court. We can't have Rafer handling the ball. We need someone that can take some pressure off Yao.

No trade involving Head. Sorry but he and Yao are the two main building blocks of our future.
No offense Yao#1, but the Bulls GM isn't stupid enough to give away four solid contributors in exchange for an all-star plagued by injury concerns and a 41-year-old shotblocker.

W/O T-Mac, We can get two good guys to win the last two games.
If he is healthy all the time, one tilte may be possible.
If he is healthy sometimes, zero value for the Rockets to champion.

No. This team has been built around those 2 guys these years. T-mac has been the best super-star who really knows how to cooperate with Yao so far. Have patience!

I can't post new thread. Forgive me for writing here.
Anyone concerning Tmac's back can do one thing,
informing Rockets' staff:
The fomentation and other treatments taken to Tmac's back is proved only temporarily effective now.
Acupuncture, plus Chinese herbs or not, is the treatment capable of effecting
a radical cure of sufferings like back spasm.
Please don't hesitate to try it.
Anyone concerning can visit an acupuncture physician to affirm it, such as

Like I said, I dont think Tmac should be traded. However, so many people yell for it but have no suggestion for who. I just was throwing a possiblity out there that I guess most people think is rediculous. I have no problem with this thread being locked up, but just wish rather then people posting to trade tmac, at least come up with a possible trade.
