Weak, dude. I was 1-6 going into last week, going against the best team in the league needing every point, and cheered my heart out for Wali Lundy, who my opponent was starting.

If I ever start rooting against my team due to fantasy football, that's the day I quit fantasy football.

I'm 8-0! Theres only 8 teams total in the league so most teams are deep. Got Peyton, AJ, Steve Smith, Kevin Jones and Ravens D carrying me. Anyways....Im just hoping that we stay competitive this Sunday.

There is a man law that you never openly root for your team to do poorly just so one of your fantasy players going against your team will do well.

It is a man law, it is just plane wrong to cross that boundary. Now it is not to say you bench that player if you suspect they are going to put up awesome stats against your team, you just don't publicly enjoy it when they are doing so.

Then nobody will care if you seem excited about one of your players scoring, but I still wouldn't cheer or jump and down.

I won a fantasy football championship picking up players who were playing the Rams lousy defense one year. Sometimes you do what you have to do.

Just wanted to make sure. I certainly wasn't jumping up and down last week, but I wouldn't have been too disappointed had Jones-Drew scored a late TD on us. :)

I do have Shockey though.

Texans blew it when they crapped an egg in Nashville.

For the Texans to win this the pigs are going to have to fly over the blue moon, the moon has to be in line with uranus and the wind has to blow the right way and you know the wind never blows the right way at the Meadowlands. In other words, it aint happening ...

G-Men 34, Texans 14.

Eli vs David = Eli in a landslide.

Tiki vs Wali = Edge to Tiki

OL vs OL = G-Men

DL vs DL = G-Men

Secondary, Special teams and at the moment, coaching all favor NYG.

Sorry it is what it is ... the Giants are going to win their division and even if Carr pulls a complete 180 and resembles a star QB (doubt it though), but if he does, how many of you honestly think he can stand up to Eli in a shootout?

C'mon lets be real here. This would be the Texans' greatest victory at this moment in team's history EVER! even the inaugural Poke game to beat these guys, they (NYG) are just that good!

This could possibly be Carr's last start as a Texan. If so, RIP David Carr's career: 2002-2006. And some people actually said he as a sure fire Pro Bowl QB this year.

If the Texans win it's all good but if they lose it's not like I will want to kill someone like I wanted to against Buffalo or when Stockton hit that three. I was a huge Oilers fan but my love for the NFL left with them, however un-Texanlike that may be. :-)

An edge to Tiki? You think so? He has the most rushing yards in the entire league!! There is also Jacobs, who is an excellent goal-line runner.

Look dude, I was trying to find one area that maybe accidentally the Texans come close to comparing ... grasping at straws you know. Duh, Wali is a ROOKIE! I know Tiki is a future HOF and Wali is still an unproven rookie for the most part. Wali has potential star quality but yeah there's no real comparison. For the record ...

I dont see how we are not going to get buried in this one. Maybe wrong, hope I'm wrong but dont think I am.

Man, I respect Andre Wares color commentary but I have to disagree with his assessment that Carr will have a longer hook. I disagree Carr has ALOT to prove. He must put points on the board and quickly. G-Men are a little banged up but, they still have plenty of talent on this team to give us fits.

David had better show some fight or else, I say Sage is our man and plan to shop Carr in the offseason.

Kubiak's lack of faith in Carr. Carr's not turning the ball over, but is still just padding stats on dink passes.

Yea... and if the team catches a few more of those "dink" passes, they likely get close enough to score that first FG (if not more).

We all wish we could just have the QB drop back, survey the field, and throw long... but this tender o-line still needs help, and the quick rhythm offense can be effective if you mix in rollouts and play-action (assuming you have a running game).

Perhaps the Giants will change their defensive strategy in the second half now that Strahan is out.

It was only for a play, but if I was Kubiak I would have torn up the refs and encouraged Mario for being agressive. Kubiak isn't very tough on the refs, maybe because he is a rookie HC.

Was it a fake? I just thought Feely saw that the kick was easily going to be blocked. Either way, terrible play by a team I felt is going to end up in the Super Bowl (but they're really banged up today).

You're right. Looking at the replay it was just mishandled.

I wish the Texans would go play action deep on a first down sometime soon. All those first down runs and all the short passes so far in the game, the Giants are set up to give up a big play deep.

The play where Wiegart was holding was a "deeper" play... if the o-line becomes more consistent, the offense will have more time to let plays develop.

Contrast how much time Manning has in the pocket on nearly every pass.

Losing a game at the end with a little girl fumble is not a good game. In the NFL you are winners and find ways to win, or you are losers and find ways to lose. We Texas are losers. The QB stumbling over his own feet to kill the drive in the fourth quarter, and Wali "Cupcake" Lundy taking a medium hit and strip attempt and losing the ball and the game. The Texans almost always lose the manhood test, and the games.

Sorry for the Lundy/Cook mixup. I watch the game with the sound down and listen to the radio. They must have initially thought it was Lundy and I switched to disgust/sick to my stomach mode. Different player, same analysis. The heat was on and they wilted. And if the Texans play true to their pattern, they will spend the next week congradulating themselves for sticking close to the Giants before giving the game away, say all the right things about getting mentally prepared for the Jags, and then next Sunday they will come out flat and get smoked.

Then sorry to jump on you like that...

Honestly, we played well. But, like the Dom Capers era, once we got the lead, we played not to lose. The playcalling got really conservative; we apparently tried to milk the clock with 15+ minutes still left in the game. I liked the mix of run/pass early on. Even though our running game was ineffective again, it kept the D honest, for the most part. Carr played well; that dive into the endzone really pumped me up and I thought the D would step up huge...and the offense would feed off of that and at least try a bomb downfield on the first play to see if they could catch the D napping...but oh well. "Moral victories" has become the norm for this team...

Exactly! they showed some improvement but they did LOSE. I'm tired of everyone saying "David Carr played good, he didn't loose the game." Ya know what, he didn't win the game either. Until this team gets a Competent qb who is able to pass for more than 200yds on a consistant basis, this team is not going to win. David Carr is not a winner. He made a couple plays today, but not enough. He is a #1 pick who has bee in the League for 5 years and has shownb little improvement. He should be able to to throw for at least one TD or throw for at least 200 yds. He is not a rookie. Not only do they still need a QB. They still need a rb. Yes Wali has had a few good games, but he has also had some pretty crappy games (today: 43 yds). I dont blame him much because he was a 6th round pick and I wasnt expecting him to even be as good as he is. I think he would be fine splitting time with another runner or being a #2 back, but this team needs a rb that can break it open with a big run or has the speed to get to the outside. DD didnt even bring that when he was healthy. The team needs some serious talent quickly and the first positions they need to replace is QB and RB.

Mr. Clutch
11-05-2006, 05:20 PM
If your QB plays well, but your team loses, you DONT get rid of the QB. That doesn't make any sense. Things could be much worse for us at the QB position. Carr didn't throw for a TD today, but he did run for one, and he throws at least 1 TD practically every game.

MONON
11-05-2006, 06:26 PM
I liked the short quick passing game that we used today. It was effective. The only problem with that game plan is that it takes at least 10 plays to score. We aren't consistant enough to run that many plays without making a mistake(turnover). But overall I was pleased with our heart & effort, but dissappointed that we didn't get over the hump.

Just got back from the game. There were not too many Texan fans - I saw about 5. However, it was fun being a Texan fan today at Giants stadium. Mario Williams was all over the place and got the crowd all riled up after his sack on Manning. They didn't like him immitating the Giant defenders with that basketball shot. Mario could've had 3 sacks. Fans around me kept yelling Reggie Bush every time Mario made a play. Giant fans were getting real restless in the 4th quarter and i really thought the Texans were going to pull it out. That fumble reallly hurt but I think the Defense which played great all day just got tired and couldnt stop Tiki Barber. It was such a great day for football in the meadowlands and even better for tailgating.

Why would they chant Reggie Bush? I don't get it. Bush is playing like crap. Good to hear Mario got the crowd riled up. I was laughing at his basketball shot, it was hilarious. He just couldn't wait to rub it in their face.

They were I guess trying to say we shouldve taken Reggie Bush instead of him. However, that all changed real fast after almost getting another sack. I was yelling back Mario with all the crazy New Yaukurs telling me to Sit Down. hehehe

I was at the game as well today, wearing my Carr jersey, it was a ton of fun. We got heckled a bunch walking into the stadium. I was yelled at only a couple of times by random people. What I would have done to walk out of there with a victory. It was really cool to see the Giants fans sweat the whole game. I really wish the Texans games at Reliant would be as intense. The fans at the Meadowlands are very passionate.

I bashed Carr last week. He played like a man today.

The team played a good game. Mario is getting better....

proud of the team today, cept for the fumble they played a good team real tough, would have been nice to win.

David was awesome today, that guy needs to show up more often, we can win with him, no doubt.

Tough loss but they played like men and they shouldn't hang their heads after this one.

.

i assumed this would be the response. david was AWESOME?? really?? isn't that a bit extreme?

he didn't have a bad game...but he didn't have a great game, either.

he didn't lose the game for the texans...but he certainly didn't win it for them, either.

the expectations for this first overall pick are so slight now. he passes for under 200 yards, no TD's and that's an AWESOME game. great.

Very extreme. There something about David Carr that just isn't right or isn't there. I can't pinpoint it exactly, but there is something foul about his qb play. The drop by Lundy on third down was a big miss, but to see Carr act like a complete baby on the field because of it.......I don't really know what to say about that. It's certainly alarming. And I definitely feel that the leadership in the huddle is questionable. It seems that the guys rally around Carr and say the right things because Kubiak wants the guys to do that. I don't get the sense that it's because of something that Carr brings to the table. This is clearly just my opinion and how I am viewing things, but man, something feels superficial about the whole deal.

Tough loss. That game was there for the taking. I felt like we were going to get a TD on that last drive if not for Cook's fumble.

Of course, we probably would have left too much time on the clock and the Giants would have kicked a FG and ended up winning in OT, but that's neither here nor there...

One thing I don't like is hearing the guys interviewed after the game. It seemed like everyone was content with the "moral" victory. This isn't college football, there is no such thing as a "moral" victory. At least there shouldn't be...

I may be overreacting, but I don't like the "we lost, but we played well" attitude we seem to be taking on. That kind of attitude is a cancer and we can't let the new guys (Mario, Ryans, Spencer) see that kind of thing because we don't want it to rub off on them.

did you hear carr's interview this morning??

"yeah, it was awesome man. it was awesome to have all the guys rally around me like that. i was excited to be that spark for them."

ugh. i don't think you're overreacting.
