If you haven't seen the QB from Stratford High School....you should.

He's a junior and he's putting up ridiculous numbers. He's the son of old Oilers QB and Dynamo GM, Oliver Luck.

Here's a youtube clip:

When was the last time Stratford beat Memorial? Hasn't it been something like 10-15 years? :)

i have no idea. i graduated in 92. back then, memorial's football program was a joke...while shs was a perennial playoff team and playing for state championships, memorial was in the tank...

until they hired away stratford's defensive coordinator! :D

i would be surprised if stratford didn't beat memorial this year.

but this thread is more about the QB than the team!

Luck is 121 for 187...he's thrown for 1980 yards, 19 TD's and 2 INT's in 8 games.

He's run for 422 yards, averaging 6 yards per carry..and has 9 TD's on the ground.

Yeah, that's pretty good, I guess.

Man, I played basketball for Alief Hastings from 93 to 96 and the three scholls mentioned in this thread were the absolute SCRUBBIEST schools there were. I don't know about football, but, they were completely pathetic in basketball. One kid on the sophomore team at Memorial actually started crying on the court!!!

Luck family: Back to Oliver Luck. I've known him since the Oilers selected him in the second round of the 1982 draft. He's been one of my favorite people in sports for years. Recently, I attended my first high school game in Houston in 31 years here. I wanted to see Oliver's son, Stratford quarterback Andrew Luck, who's a junior and a big-time prospect attracting interest from all the big-time programs. Like Baylor.

I wanted to see if Andrew plays like his old man. No, he doesn't. Andrew can actually run and throw. Oliver could run, but as Dizzy Dean used to say - I know I'm showing my age here - guys like Oliver run too long in the same place. Or they run straight up and down, as Ol' Diz you to say. By the way, if you don't know who Dizzy Dean was, Google him. You won't be sorry.

Anyway, Andrew is 6-4, 210. Oliver is 6-2 and never reached 200. Andrew has led Stratford to the playoffs for the first time since 1993. I predict that by the time Andrew Luck leaves Stratford, he'll replace Craig James as the best player in school history. I suspect he won't accomplish what James did, though, igniting a 15-0 state championship team.

I heard some running back for Cy-Falls had EIGHT touchdowns tonight. I think it's the one about to close in on 2000 yards.

From the Chron:

Cy Fair's Sam McGuffie had 12 carries for 270 yards and 5 touchdowns in the first quarter. He finished with 376 rushing yards and eight touchdowns for the night, which pushes his season rushing past 2,000 yards to 2,020.

By the way we (in 92') brought Stratford back to the playoffs from the hiatus after 88'. Too bad you couldn't enjoy this time madmax.

So did Stratford win again on Saturday?

Who is recruiting him?

Cause if he's being recruited by say a D2 school only a parent, family, friend, or fan could like him.

Matt Malatesta
Recruiting Analyst

Houston (Texas) Stratford High School's Andrew Luck is the next big thing in Texas. He will be one of the top quarterbacks in the country in 2008 and he only has three official offers. Has only Houston, Baylor and Nebraska recognized the talented 6-3, 210-pound quarterback who has an NFL pedigree?
