I am sure that many of you here can relate.
Just caught a special on Bum Philipps which focused primarily on his time during the Steelers rivalry - and damn I had to reminiss a bit to all the good times ( and painful (ie 92) , for that matter ) of being a huge fan of the Oilers.
Perhaps this is why I am still having a very tough time accepting the Texans. And no, it is not that easy to forget once the Texans finally become competitve - we are actually talking about over 30 years of professional football in Houston which consisted of some very good seasons and damn good times.
Of course I'm glad that the NFL made it's way back and with a great owner for that matter; but, why do we throw all these memories aside and have to look at the freakin titans as being the former Oilers. Yes, I am rammbling a bit ( going back to the Bum video ) and clearly Bud was an ass.
Just miss the good ol' days. Definitely strange to see Moon retire his jersey in Tennessee and am now thinking - where will Bum or Earl Campbell be remembered for that matter? These guys were Houston, Texas first!!
OK, I grew up in the luv ya blue days, and haven't actually lived there in 10 years - but it's still freakin killing me! Still haven't found a team to fill that void. Here's to hoping that the Texans may eventually give me something to look forward to on Sunday!
