I think this says a lot about Coach Kubiak, looks like we have a pretty damn good football coach here, we should be excited for the future of this team. Anyway, very interesting numbers indeed.

Your post makes sense but...

1.) We're still 5-1.

2.) We have a quarterback (Jake Plummer) who has lost his confidence a bit due to Cutler lurking over his shoulder. Before Cutler he had no legitimate competition, and he was "The Guy", but now he is not, and because he is kinda prickly, he seems to not be handling it well. This situation will be resolved, and it doesn't have much to do with Kubiak.

3.) Shanahan calls a lot of the plays anyway.

4.) The running game is humming along just fine at 143.3 YPG, so the problem clearly is the passing game, and the fact that we are coughing up the ball, which results from item #2.

5.) Our defense is owning people. (Hopefully this holds up against the Colts.) So the offense doesn't need to do so much.

That said, Kubiak is an excellent coach. I think being the backup QB to Elway back in the day helped him out quite a bit. Although you should have tried to get Alex Gibbs too, the zone blocking is what really makes the running game (and thus the offense) click.

They may have lost their OC, but I expect them to be a contender for many years to come with a great qb of the future in Jay Cutler (you knew I couldn't resist posting in a thread that mentioned Cutler).

You guys that refuse to accept it can say what you will, but David Carr is doing his part.

If opponents want to put in their backup players late in the game, that is their choice. If Carr didn't produce with the backup players in, then you might have an argument.

His passing efficiency is higher, which means that he is getting the protection necessary to find his receivers and get the ball to them. The rest of the offense will improve as the players around him get better. I accept the statistics, because they are factual. Whether you believe in the QB rating, is up to you.

When our better players returned to the field last week, you saw the significance in how it affects the opposing scoring. When the crowd got into the game last week, our team fed off of it.

This team will be turning the corner soon.

We have the perfect Coach for our QB. I wish we had him sooner. Capers' staff was the worst thing that happened to Carr. Give him his credit for battling back from it. He's doing it much sooner than I expected.

Carr is going to get better. Accept it and enjoy it.

Good points. IMHO the unsung hero of sorts for the offense, Ephraim Salaam at left offensive tackle. Man he has helped this offensive line form into a cohesive unit better than any OL we have ever had in recent memory. Yes, Kubiak apparently DOES know what he's doing. I said give them to midseason.

It looks like that Dallas game was the beginning of a turning point in the season for at least the Texans. They played like they REALLY wanted it last week. Play like that on sunday, only on planet fantasyland will the Titans win.

BTW, hey Poke fans how do you like your QB situation now? Looks like you and the Skins will be fighting for position in the outhouse while the G Men and the Eagles will be scuffling for the penthouse.
