I was a huge Oiler fan, but went back to my roots (Chi-Town) when Bud Adams took them to Tennessee. Although, I'm not rooting against the Texans, some of the moves (ex. see R. Bush) they've made have left me questioning whether or not I'll ever jump on the bandwagon.
It's been over 20 years since the '86 Bears dominated the NFL, but this years team look to be in the same mold. Go Bears!
Who's your favorite team (other than the Texans) if any?

I was a huge Eagles fan back in the early 90s.. I turned to them for relief after having my little Oilers heart broken so many times.
I lost interest in them after Cunningham left.. but I loved McNabb in college and was THRILLED to see him go to Philly. Ever since he's been there I've been quitely rooting for them since. I'm way more a McNabb fan than an Eagles fan, but as they go he goes.
In another life I could totally see myself being a Bears fan. That team is just timeless. I really admire that.

Still time to convert. Jump on the "Da Bears" bandwagon now while they're still accepting applications.

I have favorite players like Portis and Sean Taylor. I cheer for those guys but after they're gone I won't really care for the Redskins.
I like Wes Welker and Zach Thomas but I dont consider myself a Dolphin fan.
Its all Texans for me. Only team I get down when they lose.

Dolphins, because they were my childhood team. The Texans started up after I moved here, so I decided to hop on the bandwagon, but I still have love for the Fish. I still harbor the AFC East rivalries - I hate the Jets, Bills and Patriots, whether or not those teams are any good.

the closest thing i have to a 2nd favorite team is the saints. they were the closest regional team after the oilers left who weren't the cowboys. so they were the team i rooted for. but i didn't feel for them anything like i felt for the oilers or the texans.

I've explained before that I'm a Texans and a Cowboys fan.
Some people dont't think its possible but it is.
Last weekend my son and I sat at bw3 so we could watch the cowboys, texans and astros all at the same time. too bad we only got 2 out of 3 wins we wanted.

Fight, Eagles, fight, score a touchdown one-two-three!
Hit 'em low, hit 'em high,
And watch our Eagles fly!

I was a hardcore Browns fan in the 80's during the Bernie Kosar era. When they relocated, I continued to follow them to this day as the Ravens.

Titans....My favorite team above all. It's the team I grew up loving, and that hasn't changed just because they play in a different city. Hell, I couldn't afford to go to the games at the Dome, so why does it matter that I can't attend their games now, either? No matter who they drafted, they've been my favorite team. But, I certainly love that VY ended up there....

But the only reason you started liking them was because they played in Houston, and their games were on every week.

My second favorite team (and first favorite before the Texans got here) is whoever is playing the Dallas Cowboys.
That said, I'm pulling for the Bears this year.

When did this become a "please judge my allegiance to a team" thread?
Were they on TV every week, though? I remember many weekends when they weren't on TV due to blackout restrictions. I remember loving reading the chronicle on Monday mornings to see the "report card" of the previous day's game, whether I saw it or not.
Living in the Austin area since I attended UT, I've been able to see many of the Titans games the past 10 years. Plus, with the proliferation of The Dish, NFL ticket, internet, etc., I can follow any team as closely or closer than I have in the past.
So, anyway, they are my team, and will continue to be my team. I don't know why so many people have a problem with Oilers fans becoming Titans fans....Sure, Bud Adams is a douche bag and the team broke a lot of hearts. But, I'll live or die with them. I like the Texans, but I'll always love the Titans. Big difference to me....

I assumed you were a Houston resident... so yes, I have a problem with Houstonians who still choose to root for a team that techinically no longer exists. (and you know everybody will just jump on that bandwagon when the Texans grab hold of some success).

My 2nd favorite team was the Titans up until McNair left this year, now its the Bears. But I've quietly adopted all the Chicago teams (aside from baseball where St.Louis has always been #2) as 2nd favs.

Thats because my father is a huge fan of dallas forever so, I like the cowboys and the texans, I cant watch them because I get mad, but if the texans win next sunday I dont be sad, and for some reason I want Mario Williams get a sack against Bledsoe.

Yes, I was born and raised in Houston, though I live in Round Rock now. I do agree that many people will switch over to the Texans when they find success....I hate that bandwagon mentality, but it's not me, in all honesty. The Oilers/ Titans were my team, and will always be my team. Hell, if I'm still cheering for them after they've sucked so badly the last 3 or 4 years, I think that speaks for itself. Not that the Texans have thrived to put pressure on people to side with the "winning" team, but as I said before, it won't matter to me....I'd love to see the Texans do well, but I'm not going to cheer for them when they play Tennessee. I haven't yet, and don't plan on it. Otherwise, sure, it'd be great to see them succeed.

Same with me. I was a big Oilers fan with no place to go after the team left Houston. I've lived in Baltimore for the last 10 years but never got into the Ravens, even during their Superbowl year. I'm finally paying attention b/c they got McNair, who is a good quarterback with an Oilers connection.

Real Texans like the Cowboys and whichever team Houston happens to have in town. In the Luv the Blue days I probably would have even routed for them to beat the Boys in the Superbowl if the Oilers had ever held up their end of the bargain. Funny how Boys fans have no animosity towards the Houston football teams they hardly ever play and never meaningfully played but not the other way around.
I'll route for Tenn in the next tier (always like the Raiders, used to like NO, Bucs, Atl pretty well) as soon as Butt Adams is out of the picture.
Stealers, Iggles, Skins, 40whiners--all freaken suck donkey balls.

I root for the Giants because in that whole 4 team rivalry thing, I can't stand the Cowboys or Eagles and can't bring myself to root for the Redskins. But really, my second favorite team is whoever is playing the Cowboys.
