Was the game soldout?

Attendance was actually up by 2 people over last week's game. What's your point?

I wish I could see a Texans games for once.

All I can say is that Dunta, Mario, and Demeco are GREAT cornerstones for this defense that have me excited beyond belief. We just gotta get this team playing together, and add a few more great, young players and we should be quite the team next year.

Carr's INT wasnt even one. The ball was stripped but wuteva. Great game. I was in teh bottom bowl when the TExans scored both the touchdowns. Such a fun game, espeically since we got the W.

The first two are not independent. The fact that Johnson is #3 in receiving yards goes a long way toward making Carr #1 in passer rating. But Carr has been pretty good, any fool can see that. And Ryans has been spectacular. The team has huge holes at running back and secondary. And the DL and OL aren't quite adequate. But Ryans, Carr, and the receivers are doing very well.

You could say they aren't independent. The fact that Carr is #1 in passer rating goes a long way toward making Johnson #3 in recieving yards. I mean, come on...someone has to give him the ball.

We do need a better running game, although Dayne didn't look so bad today.

Glad we got the win! Here's to 6 more. :D A man can dream...can't he?

I'm gonna agree with IC2000 for once. Why did mario get credit for the second sack? He was like the 3rd person to pile on after Culpepper went down?
.

That might get corrected in the official records.

Having said that...who cares?? They won!!!!! I only caught bits and pieces of the game...but at the end, the Texans had more points than their opponent. That's a good thing.

Exactly. I get the feeling that if he threw the ball downfield a lot, people would be clamouring for him to dump it off for safer passes. The guy just cannot win with fans.
It's far easier to blame Carr for the ills of this franchise than to look squarely and honestly at the true reasons why the Texans are a bad team that is years away from being competitive.

Now that the excitement of our first win is over, I've had time to reflect on this game....

I'm still REALLY WORRIED about our defense. That last drive by Miami was a train wreck waiting to happen. They just went right down the field on us and they're HORRIBLE. We seem to have no way to defend:

1. The quick pass
2. The draw play

These 2 plays have killed us all year long. If not for that bizarre 2-point conversion play, we could be singing a different tune this morning.

Sitting on the ball before halftime was a huge mistake. In hindsight, it could have cost us the game. We were moving the ball against Miami, why not try to get a FG before halftime? If we had got a FG (and we had enough time go get one), we would have been up by 11 instead of 8 and the ending would have been a lot less dramatic. Horrible coaching decision.

A BETTER running game??? I'd be happy if they are able to show ANY kind of running game. To wit:

Dayne: 22 ATT for 58 yds. Longest run - 12 yds.
Gado: 6 ATT for 9 yds. Longest run - 3 yds.
E. Shepard: 1 ATT for 6 yds. Longest run - 6 yds.
D. Carr: 4 ATT for -8 yds.

This is a running game?

Dayne is a strong runner but he's sloooow and lacks the necessary footspeed to thrive in Kubiak's offense. In fact, all three RBs look to be too slow to make much of a difference in this style of offense. This is a situation that I don't see getting addressed until next season. One thing is certain: a lot of teams will simply start to ignore the run and tee off on Carr. I'm very concerned at what the Cowboys will do in 2 weeks.

This just in guys, but Wrong-wich is choking AGAIN! Are the Jags the most overrated team in the NFL or what?

Leftwich cant even lead these guys to the toilet bowl much less the Super Bowl. We talk smack about Carr but Leftwich flat out sucks!

:D

Leftwich is just slow . . . incredibly immobile
he makes Peyton Manning look like Bo Jackson

I remember when he ran in a 11 yr TD against the texans
It was embarrassing becuase it took him like 5 minutes to do it

BUT
He does have a nice arm

despite the fact he plays for a division rival, he's one of my favorite players in the NFL.

If Carr didnt get screwed with that "interception", he would for sure be the #1 guy through 4 weeks.
For real. He's still the #1 passer in the league anyway...he still has a 2 point lead over Damon Huard of KC despite Huard's monster game against the 49ers.

Actually I think Lundy and Taylor both have that speed. They just can't block anything, and on an O-line that's already banged up and still has pass protection issues, they're just not strong enough to worth putting them out there.

Johnson, #3 for total receiving yards
Ryans, #3 for total tackles
8 teams have had byes; easier to lead the league in a cumulative stat when your team is not among that 8.

I wonder where they stand in average per game.

I was really impressed with one play when Gado just knocked down the dude. Cant remember if it was a LB or linemen. It was after a play where he was thrown down after the whistle blew and he was pissed. Anyways...I think its a MUST that we draft a RB in the first round. We must focus on the O-line once again but our secondary seems like our weakest link.

Yeah, his arm is good but I was referring more towards his ability to throw key interceptions at inopportune times. He's just not a good leader and he's sack prone because of his inability to scramble.

Carr is and will continue to improve because there are upgrades of skilled players all around him while, Leftwich has a compliment around him and yet he STILL has issues. He STILL throws picks and makes poor decisions. Thus, he is not a good leader for his team which is fine with me because we have Peyton to contend with and thats enough right now. :D

The Packers also got absolutely stomped by the Eagles, worse than we did.

His fumble inside his own 20 changed the momentum of the game.

The fumble went to Favre, not Morency.Vernand Morency had 99 yards rushing tonight for the Packers. :mad:He didn't have to share running duties with Wali Lundy... there also was no other yards from rushing attempts from a teammate in that game, aside from Brett Favre's fumble. The Packers' net rushing was 99, same as Morency's total. That tells me we should be :) instead of  .
