Back to School

So Austin ISD is going back to school today... Round Rock went back yesterday. I'm sure there are a bunch of ppl around the BBS that still have to deal with going back to school, so here's my shoutout to you.

I have taken the last 6 months off, and this is the first summer that I have slept in since I was a teenager.

Now, I have to get my 2 kiddos to school by 7:30am....ugh.

i HATE school traffic in austin. in houston you have traffic all the time, but in austin it's so much of a noticeable difference. i get all accustomed to the summer and then BAM! all the kids are back in school and i have to leave early as hell for work.

Starting orientation for law school this morning. :eek:

It runs from Tuesday to Friday and we actually have stuff to do in order to be prepared for each day of orientation. This has been the best summer of my life and I can't believe it is finally coming to an end. For the first summer in my life, I wasn't back at home living with my parents. I guess I'm in some real world crap now.

This is my favorite time of year. Here is a list of all the teachers in my life:

-Girlfriend
-Sister
-Brother in Law
-half of my band
-80% of my friends
-Mother (piano teacher)

All summer long I have to put up with them RUBBING IT IN MY FACE about being off for the summer. This week, it's finally over. At least until Spring Break. :D

My kids started last week and man, did I have to get up early to drop them off...I don't know how they do it...I can't wait till next year when school starts after labor day...

Back to school on Monday. Not that it'll be too bad, my classes are fairly easy, and my first class doesn't start til 10:30 every day...I guess the only thing will suck will be homework, which my boyf will be helping me with since he doesn't have to go to school this year... :mad:

I used to get sick in the stomach going to the first day of school as a youth. I still feel uneasy about the thought of others starting school once again.

with only two classes registered for the fall and my optometry school hopes high (i was an alternate last year), i hope this semester goes by quick, painless, and successful.

I graduated with an IT degree 20 yrs ago

In 2 weeks I am starting back to school in the evenings.

For 20 yrs I did the day to day grind -- and with my free time did what I found rewarding.

Now I am preparing myself for being debt free and moving into a lower paying job that I love (hopefully working in a head start program for Autistic kids or kids with autism).

What sucks is that my school year will last from Monday, August 21st (2006) to a tentative date of August 8th, 2008. Now, that's one long school year! :eek:

I'm finished with school. Trying to move up in the world, now.

My GF, though, is a third grade teacher. It makes me feel kinda bad that she gets up at 5:30-6am every morning and I don't. Well, ok...not that bad, but still. :D
