Is this true or is it a silly marketing trick?

I mean this can't possibly be true -- can it...

A whopping four burgers in one

There is something about the number four that gives it a special place in our culture.

Four-wheel drive. The four-minute mile. The Fantastic Four.

Now, thanks to the power of the number four, we're seeing a breakthrough in fast-food development that's at once fascinating, terrifying and 100 percent by-gum American.

The four-patty cheeseburger.

It's called the BK Quad Stacker, and it lumbered onto menus this month at Burger King.

The Stacker's formula is simple: bacon, cheese, creamy sauce and burger patties. No veggies.

Ever ordered two double cheeseburgers from BK? Because that is what this is.

I was disappointed in it. The commercials make it out to be a lot bigger. My biggest grief with these were that I ordered a "triple-stacker." It was $3.29 plus tax. It was a triple cheeseburger with bacon on it.

The reason I was pissed was that I used to get triple cheeseburgers from BK all the time. They were $1.49. So, essentially, I'm paying $1.80 for some freaking bacon?

No thanks, BK. This was a dumb burger idea. Make it Whopper-Size patties if you want to impress me.

Now, the Texas Double Whopper...THAT bad boy lived up to the hype

I had the triple stacker the other day. It isn't as big as it looks, but it's fairly large. I thought it was awesome. It has the "Stacker Sauce" on it, which tastes sort of like the Big Mac "secret" sauce. It actually reminded me of the "Big King", which was my favorite BK burger until they got rid of it.

I had the quad a few weeks ago. It's just a gimmick. The patties aren't that big. Jack in the Box's two-patty Ultimate Cheeseburger puts it to shame.

Yeah, minus two slices of bread as well. I don't see what all the fuss is about.. if you can't finish it, don't order it :p

Actually, I applaud them for photographing a realistic representation of the burger. How many times have you seen a picture of a plump, juicy burger with perfect condiments only to get some ugly, flat, POS with brown lettuce?

I love Sonics breakfast burrito, I eat them for lunch sometimes. As far as the Stacker, one day when I was much younger when McDonalds had the Big Mac 2 for $2, I got four and ate them all. Now that alot of bread.

I ate a triple from Wendy's once. I think I could feel my arteries clogging as I ate it. A friend of mine, who has about 5 inches and 100 pounds on me, told me he ate 2 in one sitting.

2000 Calories?? Ha you can get that now at Jack in the Box the Ultimate Chessburger with sourdough bread...

That thing in the picture is at least 8-10k in Calories.. 4x more than your necessary intake...

Groogrux

According to the Burger King website, that thing only has 800 calories. 150 for the bun, 70 for the sauce, 370 for the three patties, 140 for three slices of cheese and 80 for six bacon strips. EDIT: I realized this thing has four patties. That would add around 125 calories to it. So 925.

That has to be wrong.

That picture makes it look bigger than it really is. Those aren't quarter pounder sized patties. They're regular hamburger/cheeseburger sized. Like the ones you would get out of a Happy Meal.

According to their website, an order of Pei Wei's orange peel beef with rice noodles has 860 calories & 30+ grams of fat. But I'm betting that if you polled people they'd almost unanimously choose it as being much healthier than a cheeseburger & fries.

I wouldn't. Orange peel beef is battered covered and super saucy. So good but so bad.

I had one of these yesterday:

Bacon 'n' Cheese Ciabatta Burger: 395g t.w./1120kcal/690kcal from fat/76g fat/28g sat. fat/135mg cholesterol/1670mg Na

But it sure tastes good. Possibly only Carl's Jr. has a more unhealthy item on the standard menu.

I've never really eaten beef(Tried it here and there...love Kobe beef), so I don't see how you guys do it. I know the chicken fast food items aren't exactly healthy either, but there's not too much you can do to them to make them more unhealthy. They don't make sandwiches with more than one chicken patty, they usually don't have cheese/bacon, and they can be grilled.

Just eat chicken, guys.

And, regarding the Pei Wei, that's probably one of the more unhealthy items at Pei Wei, and it's a hell of a lot more food. I could probably finish off one of any of these sandwiches, but I've never finished a whole bowl of Pei Wei.

I'm amazed at how freaked out people are on this. A Big Mac value meal is more fattening.

I mean, who here hasn't ordered a couple of double cheeseburgers at 99 cents a piece for lunch? That is the exact same thing with two pieces of bread.

Let people eat what they want. For the value meal vegans, they have a Ceasar side Salad at Wendy's for 99 cents. Although I think it may have bacon bits and possibly anchovies.

Or just go with Wendy's side salad.

FYI, I've tried both and Christian's Totem and Tailgate taste exactly the same. Good news indeed for folks around midtown these days.

One thing I have to say about clutchfans.net...

this community, by and large, has the most numerous and frequent discussions about fast food of any BBS on the entire freaking internet.

maybe its because houston is fatsville usa, but jeez, we really know our way around a drive-thru.

Yeah. I kinda started it. But talking about good fast food deals is beneficial to everyone! Especially those on a budget.
