Assuming that we draft Bush, and picking up Eric Moulds, we now have Carr, Davis, Johnson, Bush, and Moulds. Is there any chance that we come out of no where this year like the Rams did in 99?

With that said, you've been telling us for months how we didn't need a quarterback in the draft. :rolleyes:

So before The Rams went on to their "Greatest Show On Turf" for several years, was Kurt Warner considered a better QB than David Carr is now? :confused:

The offensive line and pash rush still are sorely lacking. So no, I don't see how this team is going to be much better. Unless you call 6 - 10 competitive, because that's the upside.

Really, the scedule isn't that bad. We have some winnable games like Philadelphia, Tennessee (twice), NY Jets, Cleveland, Miami, Dallas, Buffalo. I say we can win between 6 and 8 games. Let's have a looksie:

Philadelphia W
@Indianapolis L
Washington L
Miami W
@Dallas W!!!!
Jacksonville W
@Tennessee W
@NY Giants L
@Jacksonville L
Buffalo L
@NY Jets W
@Oakland L
Tennessee W
@New England L
Indianapolis L
Cleveland W

This year is a rebuilding year, but in 2007.....look out!

I say 8-8, or 9-7. A new coaching staff with the exact same players that we had last year would have given us improvement over last year. But the front office has gotten us some good players in here. I am looking forward to seeing them perform.

I'm looking forward to everything, and I'm hoping for 7 wins. Anything above that (and I do think it's possible up to a wild-card berth) is awesome

With Carr as the QB then I think we are somewhere between 3-13 and 6-10.

There's a possibility. With that many weapons the Rams were able to put in just about any QB on their roster and he would be successful.

The Rams had a good offensive line and an over-achieving defense in 1999. The defense fell apart the next year which prompted the hiring of Lovie Smith. The retooled defense helped get them back to the Super Bowl in 2001, but by then the offensive line (right tackle) had started to decline and of course the nut job Martz was running the show by then. <sarcasm> I always loved Martz's logic. Let's just throw deep every play even though we have Marshall Faulk on our team. </sarcasm>.

Just average protection from the offensive line will make Carr look like he is having a career year in 2006.

I've always said i wanted a team around Carr so everyone could honestly evaulate him properly. Not with a crappy team around him. That being said it will be a good year this year...in the sense that we can really see what we are capable of with Carr at the helm with talent around him.

That's the biggest thing im looking forward to..see if he can get comfortable after being shell shocked with our team the past few years....

Im very excited for the Texans this year...we have definitly given our fans something to be ready for.

That, plus Carr has to get used to having average protection from the offensive line instead of the HORRIBLE protection he's had his entire NFL career.

I think Kubiak can and will help him with that. Carr looked like Brett Farve when he was winging it down the field at Fresno State. Hopefully Kubiak can find that guy again. I think eventually he can.

I hope so, let's see as far as our record I'll say 9-7 and we miss the playoffs by a game.

BTW if you think I am crazy for saying nine wins just think back two seasons to that 7-9 year. I think we are much more talented now than back then.

I prefer to keep my expectations for Houston sports teams low, so then if they do well I am pleasantly surprised. I didn't follow that example though this year with the Rockets and look what happened to them.

I really believe that this is the year are NFL franchise turns the corner. Not just becuase we are going to draft Bush. We have a very talanted group of young players that were steller athletes at the college level and I just think that this is the year that they step as a team and show the country that they are going to be a team to be rekoned with. When it happens, I will be laughing at everyone.

So just because we bolstered the offense, our defense suddenly becomes better than the horrible stinker we put out on the field last year? I say 5-7 is more likely...hope I'm wrong.

We sort of bolstered the defense as well. Weaver at DL, Kalu at DL, Cowart at LB, and I'm sure we'll get either a pass rusher or a DB in the draft at some point.

Plus, I really do think switching to the 4-3 will make a big difference, seeing as how pretty much the whole front 7 were playing out of position last year (thanks again, Dom).

When do the rookies report? I'm pumped!

13-3 yup thats right!

1000 yards for Davis
Bush with 1200 total yards (catching, running)
AJ (pro ball, best reciever of 2006)
Moulds (will be awarded Greatest 2nd reciever title)
Carr (Will be compared to BRET FART all day and night)

OL the best in the league
Defense the best in the league.

Lets go TEXANS!!

Honestly, if we win 5 games and one of them is the Cowboys I will be happy. I don't know if I've ever hated the Cowboys more...all those people that hated T.O. are now jumping on the bandwagon and acting like he never did anything wrong. I hope the whole thing blows up in their face and they fail miserable...and of course lose to the Texans.

I can't wait for that game though. I've already got money on it with a couple of Cowgirl fans (let's hope this was a wise decision).

Post the schedule and mark it with wins and losses so we can see how you think they will get to 13-3.

No way in the world the team goes from worst to first. They were really bad last year in almost every area.

While 13-3 is a stretch, the Rams went from 4-12 to 12-4(i belive). If we make 2 gimmie kicks and catch one friggin on-side kick we're 5-11. If Bradford catches a pass that hits him in the hands we're 6-10. I know if my aunt had a d**k she'd be my uncle but I don't think the Texans are quite as bad as their record indicates. We also got hit really hard by the injury bug as well - Wade, Weigart, Wong, Babin, Earl, GW, ect.. all missed a decent amount of time with injuries.
