4 years ago, in our inagural game, we beat the Cowgirls.

4 years later, they want revenge. Whose coming up to Dallas to root our Texans on? :D

I know it's a bit early, but what the hell... :)

I know dude. You almost seem depressed. You'll come around. This team was not an exciting team under Capers. Perhaps Kubiak will add that spark you are looking for.

I've been a season ticket holder since the beginning and have had plenty of depressing moments.

I'm pulling for ya man.

Well earlier today, I called the Cowgirls ticket office and they told me the only seats available for that game are the upper level end zone seats. They told me the other seats have been taken by season ticket holders.

The upper level end zone seats are going for $48/ticket.

optimism means you think they'll be better. judging from last year, could they really get any worse? i guess as long as we win the Texas Bowl again, it'll be a mighty fine year. :D

With all that have done in the offseason? You still have no optimism? Hard to believe.

I am very optimistic about this season. I don't think we're going to go 13-3 and win the Superbowl, but with all the changes, I wouldn't be surprised if we go 8-8.

Yes, I know we were 2-14 last year, but I'm of the opinion that it had more to do with the coaching staff than the players. Plus, look at the players we've added. I see us getting better as the season goes on.

see..that's just it. i look at the players we've added and i'm not nearly as thrilled with them as the rest of you are. i think putzier is just a notch above being an average TE. i think moulds is a great option as a 2nd receiver. past that, i'm not so thrilled as to think this 2-14 team is a playoff contender. not to mention the fact that it's the defense i'm most concerned with.

You are missing the 'Carr' factor.
Everyone who had held Carr back has been fired.

Who needs defense when you have a stud QB who can take over the game. Didn't you watch the Rose Bowl?

the Carr factor is quite the variable. if he's as good as my 6 year old son believes he is, we should be in the Super Bowl next season!

I didn't say they would be a playoff contender. I happen to think the best offseason move we made was getting rid of Capers and staff. I really think that staff was the main reason for 2-14. The team quit on them early in the season.

Remember, this team was a few plays away from being 8-8 in 2004. I don't think we're as far away as many people think we are. Like I said, I have no delusions of grandeur about turning things around in 1 year, but I don't see any reason why we can't win at least 6 games next year.

Including the crackboys!

Well there can be little doubt that this will be the biggest game of the season.

Yeah, me too. Last year they couldn't get a stop to save their lives. At least now we won't have to suffer the "but we REALLY have the guys for a 4-3!!" argument anymore.

Have patience Madhopper.

Our defense was bad, but our offense was one dimensional and easy for teams to prepare for. Even though Flanagan will be an improvement over McCrappy we have a ways to go, before Carr gets the protection he needs to utilize our new weapons.

The 2nd and 3rd round should provide us much needed help at OL and a few defenders. That's what I'm hoping for.

There is still time. Maybe we have 1 more big acquisition, before the draft. Hopefully, it will be a proven player so we can add to the depth.

I almost got them before last season. Glad I didn't. :)

Of course I'm rethinking my decision now. Next season should be much more entertaining regardless of the selection we make on the 29th.

as RM95 said...yeah...and i LOVED the opening game vs. the Cowboys. but that was all about Houston and very little about the Texans, for me. it was validation to be so quickly awarded a new team...and then to have them beat dallas on opening night. wow.

but that's worn off now. now it's just the team. and i just don't have the history with it yet. i can remember going to astros games with my dad...going to oilers games...going to rockets games. as a little kid. falling in love with those teams. living and dying with their wins and losses. it's just not like that for me with the texans. it's not the same. i wish it were.

I have a goal in life. When I make my first billion. I will bring back the Houston Oilers. Renovate the Astrodome. Hire Moon to be my QB coach. Campbell will be my RB coach. And Luv Ya Blue will make its return to the Lone Star State where it belongs. Can you imagine the Astros moving?! No way! The Oilers should of never left.
