The game starts at 7:30 on Saturday, they plan on having a ticket/will call window open at 10 AM and better parking with more cops directing traffic. Oliver Luck has said that they're expecting a crowd of over 20,000 for this game.
KC looks like they'll have a good team this year with Eddie Johnson and Josh Wolff up front. They'll be a good test for our defense.

2-1 win for the Dynamo. Pairing 2 good offensive teams typically means the game will actually be low scoring.

I'll be there again. Hopefully it is as entertaining as the first one...is it going to be televised?

Quick question I hope someone can help with in the next 10 minutes. Headed to Tyler tonight where my sister lives. She has a mini-plan for FC Dallas, so we're going tomorrow. I want to buy a Dynamo shirt for me and my wife. Where can I do this?
Thanks!

Even though the Dynamo lost I still had a great time at the game. There's nothing like watching soccer in person, I thought it was great. Here are some pictures I took of the band at the end of the game:

And here's the video I took of Brian Ching shoving Garcia of the other team. This was great, and It happened right in front of me!

It was great game even though they lost. Man, what a goal that game winner was, i jumped out of my seat when it happened because it was a rip! The atmostphere wasn't as great as last week but it was still very loud.
It's great to see so many knowledgeble fans clap after a nice slide tackle, or passing between tight spaces and so forth.
The only negative about 2night was that there were a group of drunken idiots who went too far when heckling the Wiz's goalie. It's one thing to yell and scream but when the game was over the goalie turned around and classily clapped, apploading to the fans for a great game even though they were heckling him the whole time. What do the dumbass' do? Scream obsenities, flip him off, and one dumbass even through a cup of beer at him! That type of stuff maddens me! What losers!
their goal keeper was black.

Still more entertaining than the fastest growing "sport" in the US, which would be Nascar. Seriously, I can't understand how people get into watching cars go around in circles, there's not even a score. I mean track is kinda boring too but atleast it ends fast, and no one watches a whole marathon.
Golf is another sport I can't stand to watch, no matter how much fun (pain) it is to play.

It's very cool to see the MLS getting as much love in Houston. I think if they establish themselves as a 'winner', this town will really get behind them. I am not sure what the capacity of Robertson Stadium is, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if in the long run they consistently average 25-30k fans per game.
Believe me guys when I tell you this: there's NOTHING that comes close to the atmosphere and fun you can have at a soccer game.
Go 1836ers!

I went to the FC Dallas game sporting my new Dynamo shirt I bought at Academy (and just in time too...store closed at 9:00, I think my receipt says 9:02). Man, all I know is I now cannot wait until 4/22. If the Dynamo experience is anything like the one I had at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, then I can see myself going to a lot of games this year. To have such a great time when I really didn't have a rooting interest bodes well. The only bad thing was seeing the Wizard goal on television right as the FC Dallas game was ending.
I know this has been discussed, but what's the latest on a permanent place for the Dynamo to play? If they build something like Pizza Hut Park, MLS will be a mainstay in Houston, I predict. On a night where there was a Maverick game, a Ranger game, a Maverick game and a Frisco RoughRider game all in the same area, there was a really good and loud crowd for the soccer match.

They haven't worked on a stadium deal here yet since they've been trying to get everything up and running but that is a priority and should have some news about it by the end of the season. Before the move most of the talk was about getting a deal with HISD and renovating the Delmar complex at 290 and 610.
PHP is a really nice stadium, the Chicago Fire stadium is looking really nice right now also and I expect Houston's to be even better. You can see contruction pics of the Fire's stadium here (http://chicago.fire.mlsnet.com/MLS/chf/stadium/bridgeview/)
Regarding the atmosphere, here's a GIF of The Texian Army after our goal.

It's all opinions. But I do notice that when one takes the time to try to understand a sport, they enjoy it alot more. No matter what the sport is. If you know more about NASCAR, then you probably will notice details in what is going on. Same thing with soccer or golf.

I agree. I watched the KC game on FSN the other day and that was the first soccer game I've ever watched. Most of the time I had no clue if the team was doing well or executing their gameplan, and I still can't figure out what constitutes an offsides, which Dynamo was racking up. Still, all of the shots on goal were really exciting. It looked like the crowd was having a good time.

...and I still can't figure out what constitutes an offsides,...
Essentially an offensive player cannot be in position to receive a pass PRIOR TO THE PASS BEING MADE unless there are at least 2 players (usually one of them is the goalie) between him (or even with him) and the goal.
The offensive player CAN run into an offsides position to retrieve a pass once the pass has been made (i.e. the ball is kicked and then the receiving player moves into an "offsides" position)
You can be in an offsides position as long as you are not in position to receive a pass.
Also, you can be in an offsides position AND receive the ball on a throw-in.
Also, you are NEVER considered to be in an offsides position in your defensive half of the field.

I really like the games being played at UH right now. It's a perfect size for the team. It really fits them. The field is sharp and narrow it plays to the advantage of the Dynamo. They are a fast team with tons of scoring potential. Also, UH has done a lot since 2003 to renovate the surrounding campus area. I know it's in third ward in all, but trust me, since 03 it's getting better and better every year. The big games to be at this year will against Chivas USA and FC Dallas. If you've never seen a soccer game. Give it a try. MLS is a great product.

Yeah, I've noticed that. Robertson Stadium has been really nice since they rennovated it in the late 90s (and it's not like there are a lot of fans wearing the place out during football season) but there's been some nice construction around the campus as well. UH was never a terribly beautiful campus but the new buildings they've added since 2003 or so soften that "Cold War look" tremendously.
I remember there being a lot of Mexican soccer games at Robertson back went I went to school there so I'd guess the grounds crew knows how to take care of a soccer field pretty well.
