WIFI question...

hey guys...

i just moved into a new complex that has its own business center (free internet, printing, faxing, etc.) additionally, when i moved in, i was informed that if my laptop had WI-FI i could connect online via the business center.

well, my girlfriend has a relatively new laptop with WI-FI capabilities. how do i connect online via the business center?

You'll need to open whatever wifi utility comes loaded on her laptop. When you do so, it should display a list of available networks and you'll use that utility to connect to it.

If the list of networks isn't obvious which one to connect to, you'll need to get the name of their network (aka the SSID) from them.

If they have any security on their network, then you'll need to contact them anyway to get the encryption key.

once i connect to one of the selected networks, should i be able to open my browser at that point?

yes, and unless otherwise set up, you should already be able to coneect and surf once you are hooked to a wireless network
