Does anyone have any suggestions for fun games to play together with a gf? Specifically, for the Game Cube, which is the only system I have right now.

What are some fun 2-player Cube games?? We recently bought Super Monkey Ball 2, which is fun. However, what we'd really like is "a cool, RPG-like two-player adventure game where you have to figure puzzles out together" (her words). Any help would be much appreciated.

Burnout Revenge.
Not on GC AFAIK. :(

I'm more of a single-player type gamer, so I don't pay much attention to games designed for 2 or more people. Maybe the Mario Party games? Or DDR/Donkey Konga type games? Final Fantasy CC sounded like a RPG designed for 2 or more people, but I don't think it was very good (for FF standards anyway).

edit: Eh...FF:CC got some nice scores actually. ~80%

Crystal Chronicles was decent, the big downside to it is you need Gameboys to play with more than one person.

Pikmin 2 is a fun puzzle type game but the 2 player mode is Vs. only.

Yeah, that's ridiculous. What a blunder by Square. Too bad -- if not for the Gameboy requirement, FF:CC would be exactly what we're looking for.

My wife and I used to enjoy playing Primal Rage years ago. it was a fighting game where where you and your opponent would each select a dinosaur and your dinosaurs would fight.

I got it...how about Tales of Symphonia (http://cube.ign.com/articles/528/528400p1.html)? RPG with real-time battles that allows for more than 1 player (4 total). Great game too, like other Tales games.

My female friends have always somehow liked playin Super Smash Bros. The other games like Madden, they just sit, watch the guys play and complain incessantly.

The Lord of the Rings games are cool for multiplayer. My wife actually liked playing that one.

That came to my mind as well. I have it, but haven't really played it much.

Mario Kart is popular with my girl and our friends.

mario kart, smash bros, etc... are all easy to understand and pretty popular.

I haven't found a single game on the GC that my wife enjoys (Mario Sunshine is the closest). The only video game in general she likes is "Where In the World is Carmen Sandiego?" or online "Jeopardy!" I really need to teach her how to play a MMO or something.

My wife only likes the ONE-on-one combat games. Proves to her if I am an a-hole, or she's smarter than me. Either way, I lose... but later I WIN ;) .

smash bros, nintendo sport games, super monkey ball double pack, mario kart.

those are some good multiplayer games off of the top of my head.

If you want a multi-player rpg type game, eh, tales of symphonia might be okay, haven't tried that as multi-player yet though.

What IS good though is the xmen legends games. The first one is a 20 buck game now. co-op beat em up with a rpg level up system.

Four Swords is an awesome game...but you need some gameboys along w/ the gc to play it. But its fun as hell.

Super Monkey ball's another good one. And you probably can't go wrong w/ just about any Mario game.
I'll also add Ikaruga, it's both fun and challenging...very challenging.

Halo's also a great one to play w/ a significant other :D but of course it ain't for gc.

Puzzle games tend to be a big favorite among girls. And I heard that the Nintendo Puzzle Collection game includes a remake of Tetris Attack, hands down the greatest puzzle game of all time.

I think you mean Mario PARTY. And, it's only fun if you LET her win without her knowing. Trust me, you both win in this situation. ;)

This made me laugh my a** off.

Maybe I'm thinking too perverted.

Tales of Symphonia is slow in the beginning and tedious at times. It's still a fun 60 hour game, but 1/3 of that seems like a cheap gimmick to stretch out the game. The fighting, which is multiplayer, isn't that deep. It seems tacked on because it's designed to be a single player game.

I think Zelda 4 swords is the game you're looking for. If you buy one with a link cable included, you can find a used Game Boy Advance (the original one) for around 30 bucks....This would also let you play Crystal Chronicles which can be found for 20 average. If you have the hardware and people, both games are well designed and entertaining.

Hack and slash games like the Lord of the Rings series, Baldurs Gate, and Gauntlet can be found cheap, but they aren't deep and only serve as a decent diversion.

Mine likes Mario Kart, Mario Tennis, but hates Smash Bros for Game Cube

For x-box she likes Burnout Revenge, The Guy Game (Triva with boobs) and Fusion Frenzy..

Her favorite game is Donkey Kong on NES though.. she loves it to death..

My g/f and I always played Diablo II together. She liked the idea of building a character and going through quests and the best part to her was getting stuff for her character. To her it was like accessorizing.

We played silkroad together for a bit but the game got way too repetitive.

We play Solitaire Showdown on MSN a lot. She likes SIMs games and even though I don't play it, it allows her to do something with her time so I get to play my games.

We recently played X-men legends together. She lives wolverine cuz Hugh Jackman played him but her biggiest complaint is that the wolverine in the game doesn't look like him. I don't have the heart to tell her that it's Hugh that doesn't look like wolverine :D

Yeah, move to PC. My gf picked up World of Warcraft, and really likes it. If you start, give me a private message here on these boards, my gf and I, along with some "real life" friends, can lend a hand to help ya out :)

I'm actually trying to get my wife into WoW. We've had trouble finding time to play the last 2 weeks but hopefully we'll be able to get more time in. Not to derail the thread but what server are you guys playing on. I am currently on Kalecgos playing Alliance.

My SO absolutely hated Tales. Dislikes Monkey Ball and Smash Brothers as well. Feels meh about that Sega volleyball game, whatever it's called. Phantasy Star Online kept her amused for about 15 minutes, and even then only because she named her character after me and made him into a dumpy dude (she thinks it's so cute). She does enjoy falling sleep to the lullaby of DQVIII music. I'm the luckiest man alive. :D

My vote would be PSO for GC.

Getting your wife into WoW may backfire. You'll come home one night, expecting a nice home-cooked dinner, and instead, your wife will be in front of the computer, an integral part of a grueling 8-hour Molten Core run. Get used to "Chef Boyardee Night."

Do they have DDR on the Gamecube? Women love that one, too. Especially when alcohol is involved.

My brother and his wife play Halo constantly..

It really weirds me out, they've been playing it since they met, some 3 years ago..

I'd go with Mario Kart, too.
