With Domanick Davis sitting this one out, should be easy pickings for Torry Holt and the Rams. Texans have pretty much mailed it in this season, and most of the players are completely uninspired.

DD upgraded to questionable:
Nov 21 Megan Manfull, of the Houston Chronicle, reports Houston Texans RB Domanick Davis (knee) will miss Wednesday's practice, Nov. 23 as a precaution due to a knee injury, but he is expected to be healthy enough to start in Week 12.

The Rams might start their 3rd string QB. The Texans need to make this game at least competitive (just don't win--we need the #1)

Their third string was drafted in the seventh round this year out of Harvard. Truly bad news for Texans fans... :o

With Tommy Maddox starting? I was pretty sure that the Ravens would at least cover.

This is really tempting. But if the Rams dummy the offense everbody will get screwed.

An ex-bookie on the board? Nice! What can you tell us about the Thanksgiving games? I would think that the Falcons at -3 is the play. Where is the steam going?

EX...not current...i honestly dont really follow the lines too much anymore....but when u have agame like the Rams-Texans....and it looks like a no brainer...the book usually cleans up on those

You are right, I have learned that over the years. Nonetheless, I am looking hard at the Falcons at -3 and the Boys at -2.

Boys line flipped (think they are dogs now)...must be a ton of $$$ coming in on Denver...not necessarily smart money...but a lot of it

Bulger (and Martz) being out doesn't necc help the Texans. It means they'll work the ground game more, which (1) does worlds better for them anyway and (2) is our weakest of weak links on D. Ask Larry Johnson.

tease it up to 8.5, bet on the Rams to cover, and use those 5 points on another game. Parlay the two and that, my friend, is easy money.

depends on your point of view i guess. like i thought the chicago/carolina game with chi +3.5 at home was no brainer, but everyone i told said that was a terrible bet.
sometimes lines are just off...like the lines for Texas for nearly the whole entire season and again this week with a&m. texas is -28 and a&m is just a terrible team with mcneal very questionable. or tonight with the rox/phx game....its a freaking pick em!!
maybe the books are begging you to take phx...but why? just play the lines.

Damn. Texans playing like the 1985 Bears. It's 24-3 now. I'll probably lay some money on the Giants this afternoon at +5.

Any real handicapper would have known the Rams were playing Ned and the First Graders as their defensive backfield.
I didn't bet the Rams but I did take them in my survivor Pool.

Texans won this game.
Really, they did.
'Eff your precious "official box scores" and "NFL standings"
Houston Texans: 2-9.
Anyone else wonder why our guy didn't signal for a fair catch on the final onside kick? The ball never touched the dirt, and it traveled more than 10 yards.. he could have signaled fair catch (I think).. game over, Texans win.

there's no such thing as "fair catch" on a kickoff, at least that's my understanding. if the receiving team lets the ball bounce into the endzone and kicking team recovers, it's a TD for the kicking team.

Q: Would there be anything more scary than waking up in the middle of the night and having Chris Kaman standing at the foot of your bed?
-- Tony, Minneapolis
Sports Guy: Sure -- having the Texans plus-4 in a game they're leading by 10 points with 30 seconds to go, followed by a seventh-string QB from Harvard completing a 43-yard TD pass on fourth down, then a perfect onside kick recovered by the Rams, a game-tying 47-yard field goal to force overtime, and then the Rams covering because a white guy takes a wide receiver screen 60 yards for the game-winning TD. That's more harrowing than seeing Kaman at the foot of your bed. Although not by much.
Week 13
RAVENS (-8) over Texans
Did you see "Survivor" last night? Lydia the Fishmonger hadn't eaten for like 4 weeks, so they played the "Auction Game" and gave everyone like $400 to spend ... and she ended up spending $120 on a mosquito net and got outbid for every food item, as well as the immunity hint (even though she was definitely getting voted off within the next two shows). Anyway, if you look closely at her expression during the auction, I swear, she's making the Dom Capers Face for like 5 straight minutes. That's one for the ages.
