I was watching. I started to laugh. I wanted to cry. Finally, I left the room.

If this team played UT, USC, or even Texas Tech for that matter right now, they would get beat by at least 3 touchdowns. Actually, I think there might be some high school teams that could beat them. From bad calls (going for it on fourth down when you're on the 20 and have no chance of winning) to jumping offside to fighting to defensive backs having no idea of knowing where the ball is, we are simply HORRIBLE. Capers and ALL of his staff need to go. I don't even wanna wait it out for the rest of the season. It's just painful. He needs to go soon. Like tomorrow. You can even notice in the announcers voices on ESPN that they reealize how pathetic we are. You can see players getting mad at each other in mid-play. This is not a team. It's got to stop.

Oh yeah. I forgot to mention the fact that Jerome Mathis STOPPED in mid-kick return and TURNED COMPLETELY AROUND and ran 15 yards BACKWARDS. Those were all in the fourth quarter. He's a good reciever and all, but you DON'T do that.

Hey genius, did you see his touchdown or other 80 yard return tonight???????????????

Yes I did. That's not my point. My point is that the team is falling apart.

Like I said, he's a good player and all, (I think he has GREAT potential) that play was just inexcusable, I don't care who you are or what you did a couple quarters before hand.

What you gotta like is the total team commitent to sucking. There's no doubt. The whole team is on the same page.

That's the only good thing about this team. At least we're consistantly the worst team in the league.

The thing I love is when we blow coverage or something similar to that, and a random player that was in the area starts spinning circles with his hands up in the air, looking to be mad at his teammates...

Relax dude, what does he have to lose. The game is lost, he had made a spectacular earlier in the game, might as well try again. BTW, I don't think he ended up losing any yards on the play anways. He ran backwards but had enough speed to cut it up and gain back what he got.

Also, you're just finding this out? :)

Yeah. I live in Western New York, so I don't get to watch many games.

Here, it's mostly Bills, Steelers, and Browns.

I would rather watch the Rockets. The Rockets are almost nwatchable. The Texans ARE unwatchable. Actually, I think the Rockets could even beat the Texasn at football, even if the had Yao at quarterback.

anybody else see the "fire capers" banner in the endzone?

ouch. that one had to burn.

Yeah, the Texans are really bad.

But come on. Honestly.

There's no way any college (and especially high school team) beats them.

Football is far too physical a sport for boys to beat men. Period.

That is all.

THe only positive for the game was that KC beat the spread and I won on a money line bet as well. The rich get richer, and the Texans suck harder.

And by the "whole team" it's not just the players on the field. :D

If anyone on the team deserves to get accolades for their performance last night, it's mathis. If you think that's something you just "DON'T do", go watch a couple Barry Sanders highlight reels. It's how he played, and it seems to be how Mathis plays, just because he doesn't fit your self-apppointed "rules" of football doesn't mean it's bad.

I'm convinced the team has lost respect for Carr after watching the team interaction and body language at the game last night. Can't blame them either; he's definitely adopted a "it's not my fault" attitude despite numerous hideous throws.

this type of thing comes up every year when there's an absolutely horrible NFL team and some outstanding college teams (U of Miami v. cinci in the 90s comes to mind.) obviously, there's too much of a "talent" discrepancy for that to happen (size, speed, etc.) however, i think it's VERY realistic that USC or Texas could score on the Texans. by score i mean touchdowns, not fieldgoals. it would be next to impossible for those same college teams to score on almost every other NFL team (az and sf being possible exceptions.) just a thought...

Let's take a look at how the Texans and both USC and Longhorns match up. Just looking at the talent from a offense standpoint the college teams have better overall talent, but would lack the experience and maturity of the NFL players.

Longhorns vs Texans
David Carr < Vince Young
Dom Davis = Texas RB mix
Andre Johnson > Limas Sweed
Chester Pitts < Jonathan Scott
Zach Weigert < Justin Blalock
Victor Riley < Will Allen
Texans TE < David Thomas

USC vs Texans
David Carr < Matt Leinart
Dom Davis < Reggie Bush
Andre Johnson > Steve Smith
Texans TE < Dominique Byrd

The Texans have so many needs to fill its ridiculous. I also think they need to trash their 3-4 defense.

Wow, you are so on the mark, TRS.

But I would still give Carr a chance. The crappy coaching staff and management have Carr pulling the gun way too fast out of the pocket. His decisions just need to be tweaked by a real coaching staff.

It's ridiculous - 1.1 to 1.3 seconds?!?! That's f@#$ing insane. That really says a lot about our sh!tty OL.

And we're the 3rd highest payroll team in the NFL ?

man we're turning into the NY KNICKS

McKinney, Steve - $3,956,160
Wiegrert, Zach - $3,356,160
Wade, Todd - $3,137,827
Pitts, Chester - $1,586,160
Riley, Victor - $1,006,160
Washington, Todd - $837,827
Joppru, Bennie - $794,910
Brown, Milford - $662,160
Rivers, Marcellus - $646,160
Weary, Fred - $604,360
Wand, Seth - $557,827

Our Cap estimate (according to houstonprofootball.com) is 81.3 million.

That's right, our OL is using 17.2 million (21%). That would be fine, if we had the Colts OL.

With the effort this line gives us (garbage in/garbage out), there's something very wrong about this. Unless we unload some of this after the season, it won't get any better.
