View Full Version : When are the Texans going to win their 1st game?

This is just f'n ridiculous. The only 0-4 team in the NFL. Brings back memories to the expansion season....oh, wait, we actually won our 1st game and ended up winning 4! What the hell is wrong with this team?
I feel bad for Carr, getting his ass sacked an average of 5-7 times a game! None of the receivers can work to their potential with Carr getting 1-2 seconds to move after the snap. If our only offense is Davis, then we're in big trouble.....
They need to:
- Fire Pendry, Capers, Casserly
- Draft some offensive linemen
- Get good quality assistant coaches who can put some balls in this team
- Quality FAs this offseason
We might actually start this season 0-6...might have a chance against the Browns...
I couldn't add the last 2 games because the max for the poll is 10.
What do you guys think?

Who cares??? :)
Actually, it is frustrating, but that's been replaced by the Astros continued success and the Rockets about to start their championship run.

1-16 #1 pick !!
I could care less. As I said more than a week ago, I'm rooting for this team to lose. I want to see heads roll for the betterment of the organization. I want to see coaches brought in that can coach up players and bring in a winning attitude; I want to see a general manager brought in that can draft the "right" players. It's time to start over, players included.

They may not win a game. I didn't see that option on your poll.

With the 1st pick in the draft, the Texans select....
Matt Leinhart from USC.
Later on,
The Texans have traded the #1 pick, 2nd, 3rd, ah hell, all their picks to the Cowboys for Drew Henson and a sack of crap.

i'm thinking leinart will have a lot of value. thus, i'm thinking that #1 pick will have a lot of value. i'm thinking...and it's still very early...that if the texans end up with that pick, they'd do well to trade it and see what they can get. they have so many question marks...so many problems. having a ton of draft picks and an accumulation of options is a good thing.

Well, the Texans are going to accomplish one feat I thought they NEVER would.
Become the least popular pro sports team in this city. No matter how the Astros end up after yesterday, and with the excitement behind the Rockets' additions, the Texans are slowly becoming irrelevant. Listening to the first thirty minutes of John McClaine's 610 spot, they hardly ever mentioned the Texans.

sad thing is, i don't really think they can beat any of these teams. and if there is one it's arizona, and that's dec. 18th. this team could easily go 2-14 or 1-15. i hope they don't, but that's a definite possibility.

We will not beat cleveland because they are of equal talent but far better coached than what we are. I am looking at O-fur for the texans

Yeah, that is REALLY weird. Never thought that would be the case.
I really think the Texans have a good shot at going 0-16 now. As far as I'm concerned, they are a major underdog in every game from here on out except for possibly Cleveland, Arizona, and San Francisco. But Cleveland has better coaching, Arizona has better coaching + better roster, and SF will be playing at home.
That doesn't mean they can't pull an upset here or there, but they would have to play out of their minds or have a game gift wrapped for them.

I think there is too much parity in the NFL for a team to go 0-16 anymore. The Texans will likely get lucky at some point during the season with turnovers or something. The one thing that the Texans do have going for them at a chance at 0-16 is the team has given up.

I think before the season even started, many of us predicted that they wouldn't win more than 3-4 games. Its waaaay more than just the Oline too. We have issues all over the field.

Think of this...this is even scarier...What have you seen in the Texans that says they are capable of winning a game?...Which 2 of the 3 necessary elements do they own over any one of the rest of their opponents? The three elements being coaching, talent, and depth. I don't know how they can win.

First pick in the draft by the Texans.
Someone explain the name D'Brickashaw for me please.

I agree. The only way we can beat a team is if they out-crappy us. And, looking at our schedule, I think the only chance of that happening is against Baltimore.

This loss to the Titans makes believe the Texans will have to sneek up on a good team because all bad teams will have them marked up as a sure win.

If they go 0-16, they will replace the 1976 Bucs as the worst team in history. At least Tampa Bay was an expansion team that year.

From the poll results, a loss to Cleveland would appear to be a CLM for Capers.

i see no selection for "next season." 0-16 is a distinct possibility at this point. look what the patriots have done starting ROOKIES on the o-line. this sucks.

That won't be for atleast a couple of years. There still are thousands upon thousands of people who haven't been in the stadium yet. I say after next season, that is when the blackouts will start. As far as the team, there is a good possibility we could go 0-16. I was told by a Texans official during the first week of training camp that from what he had seen, the team could easily go 0-11. I didn't believe him then, but now he seems like a genius.

If we get a top 3 pick, I wouldnt want them to use it on the o-line either. I think you must pick a skill player that high. However, I think we should break the bank for O-linemen in the offseason, with everything possible! Spare no expense this offseason. We should be contacting Verba right now IMO.

What I want to know is how did this offense win 7 games last year? It practically is the same. This is the offense that put points on Tennesse and Jacksonville twice, and a great offensive outburst against Minnesota. It is shocking really.
We should have improved the offense this year of course but still you would think we should have been around the same no. of wins this season. Now it looks like this team never knew how to play in the first place.
This team has really only 2 or 3 wins max in them. There is no way this coaching staff and GM come back for next year, because as we know the problem has started from the top. Year 1: no O-line....Year 4: no O-line says it all.

Yup, they had a tough road to go insofar as they had no established tradition and the city's sports fans, more or less, learned how to cope with life sans an NFL franchise - the sun still rose every sunday morning in the fall, etc. Once the novelty wore off, they had better be good, or else all the fact that they focus grouped their logo and colors wasn't going to keep them from fading.
