Any chance anyone could create or provide a torrent for today's Astros game? I had to listen to most of it on the radio, and I missed most of the 9th - 18th innings due to church.
Unbelievable win!
Definitely one for the archives!

Question. Am I on crack or can you not fast forward these files?
Do I really have to wait 6 hours to witness the game winning homer?

They're nice and all, but I'd rather do my own, thanks.

Yea, screw that MLB crap.
We'll wait till R2K or the great video mixers on Clutch BBS to make up a highlight reel of one of the greatest baseball games in Astros history.

nWo: Oh believe you me, I am working on it...I just got unlucky yesterday as my sister left home right before I called her, so she wasn't able to change the end time on the game 4 for my DVR. It ended at 4, which was about 7 innings too short...
I swear I'm gonna end up posting this in every thread I see related to game 4 video...
Does ANYONE have this on their DVRs...that could either capture it on their PCs or even Record it to a VHS tape. Anyone?

I started DVRing after the Ausmus home run, but stopped and deleted it in the 15th or so because I obviously jinxed our offense!

It fast forwards for me. Best $3.95 I have spent in a long time.

You can fast forward, probably just need the DIVX codec.

MLB.tv isn't DivX. It's Windows Media Video. I think WMP9 or WMP10 don't fast forward it correctly. I remember it not working for me at some point. I have Astros vs Braves game 3 from last year (I was at the game). Video quality is...well, not as good as I can come up with, but for 4 bucks with only having to wait a few hours and no actual work, it's great. I on the other hand, had set aside time every night to start recording to PC then encoding to XviD, and like I said, I have games 1-3 done, and I'm working on the first half of game 4. I have found a pretty decent setting that is a little over burning a game to CD, but can easily fit a 5-7 game series (well, maybe not "easily" with a 7 game series) on a DVD for future viewing (burned as DVD Data, not DVD video)
Anyone?

Have you tried using the "slider bar" at the bottom of the WMP screen? That makes it ewasy to get to the end.

E-mail me at ron413@hotmail.com and we can figure out how to get this recording of innings 11-18 done. We can probably make it happen if somebody does not have a game download that works for your editing purposes by tomorrow.

I wanted to say something insulting, but I'll play nice.
Yes, I tried the obvious.
It must be some kind of configuration thing if some of you are able to fast forward. Technically, I'm running Media Player 9 on a W2K computer, so it's a little unusual, but not terribly so.
I'll try again when I get home from work.

If you have raw footage of Game 4 PLEASE upload it to my FTP... I have over 1GB of storage and roughly 18GB of transfer rate left. This can be a centralized place to put all of our files and then later compile and host an edited version.

I don't know why anyone would even consider saying something insulting to someone who is taking the time trying to provide help. I have no idea what computer capability and knowledge that you have. To some folks the slider bar may not be obvious. They may just think that the only FF option they have is the ">>".

Maybe I was just a little irritated with the situation when I read your previous post, but to me, the slide bar at the bottom is pretty hard to miss.
As it turns out, everything works just fine at home.
It may be because I have Windows Media 10 at home, but I'm not sure. You can't get anything higher than version 9 for Windows 2000, so that may be it.
For the record, I'm a software developer and a web developer on the side, so I have plenty of computer knowledge.
No personal offense, I just thought you were being deliberately obtuse.
Friends?

No problem....99% of the folks I help out on the side tend to ignore the obvious....it's always a good starting point.

I have innings 1-11 and that alone will be like 1 gig. I'm guessing about 1.6 gigs for the full game. 18GB of transfer rate left = say bye bye after about 5 minutes of the link to the file being posted here.
I think I can set up a torrent. I'll do game 4 first, which will take a while. Hopefully I can burn some copies of the video for others and have them seed while I'm seeding to start off. I could probably get Dskillz, ron413, adw and Dave2000 to seed the torrent so we could have 5 solid seeds when the file launches. With R2Ks allowing me to use his tracker, everything should be fine and dandy once I get everything going.

I wasn't going to offer my FTP as an open download, just to those interested in editing it. As far as file size goes if you can dit out obvious "luls" in action and then either zip or rar the files that should help with the size. Torrent or putfile are obviously the best options for the downloads of the completed items.
